Timeless Slim Head Razors

Maybe the SLIM will be a polarizing razor like the dart where some find it extremely aggressive and others find it great for everyday use.

For me, I prefer the original .68 OC Ti for my daily shaves so after 5 shaves with the slim it’s on the BST

Whisk-her Away  & shaveSymptomatic , well, just had a friend in England reiterate the same impressions both of you expressed regarding the Slim. He has the SS SB version, and he ,also, found it to have much less blade feel and less efficiency than the Blackbird. Looks like his thoughts confirm your original comments, which is quite interesting.

I don’t know of anyone who has claimed that the Timeless SLIM has as much blade feel and efficiency as the Blackbird.

I understand and from reading the information on Timeless' website, I was under the impression that it was a very aggressive razor with significant blade feel. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.

A good shave and first for 2021. The Slim .50 shaves well or should I say, very well. No, nowhere close to a Blackbird in feel. Even the Dart feels a bit more blade forward depending on angle over the Slim .50. But, it delivers an exceptionally good shave for me. It’s close to the Timeless .95 with just the slightest increase in blade feel. More importantly though, it gives me an awesome shave equivalent to the .95 with a little bit less work involved. That’s just how the chips fall for some. A worthy improvement for some like myself and not so good for others, unfortunately. Why? I haven’t the slightest clue. Perhaps the shave geometry, slimmer profile or even maybe technique. Not saying that a user/shaver is using it wrong just that there are those that will use a razor the same way with one as they will with their best tools. That’s just the way it is and the YMMV rule is a big part of why some razors are studs for some while being duds for others. Absolutely nothing wrong in that. It is what it is.

I really hesitated on getting the Slim based upon a few reviews as well as the description provided on the Timeless website. I decided to pull the trigger as I wanted something new in my den. And I'm absolutely glad I did. I found after my first shave that the Slim is nowhere near aggressive for me. I tend to grab for medium aggressive razors, which is where I would put the Slim. I find the Timeless .95 as well as the often mentioned Blackbird to be pretty grabby razors. I get good shaves from them, but I have to take it slow, as these heads don't just slide down my face with ease. That's where the slim shines for me. Regardless of cutting angle the ease of cutting is darn near perfect for my face which happens to be a moderately thick/dense beard. I don't think I even noticed the "blade forward" design as mentioned by several users. In fact I think the .95 blade feel is considerably more noticeable than the slim. So, in short I find the Slim to be more efficient than the .95 as well as the Blackbird. I'm a buy and try guy who's used about every razor imaginable in my 20 year traditional wet shaving career. And after 10 shaves with the slim I keep telling myself "Wow, this is the one." I'm getting dfs/bbs with every effortless shave and couldn't be happier.

Seriously thinking of buying a full Ti setup (sans stand) even though I'm 99.9% pre-convinced it'll be too blade forward for me to use as a daily. Just trying to figure out if I instead should only buy the head and use with a Ti handle I have on the way from TiBam (currently taking a lengthy tour through a different time zone in the U.S. for whatever reason); I'm thinking about needing to sell at a loss, and trying to minimize the loss.

I would be interested in a neutral exposure timeless slim head.  Perhaps that will be an option down the road.  When I read that it was their most aggressive offering I was glad for those folks who need that option.  I have never tried a Timeless razor, I was on the fence about buying the 0.68 but now I wonder if they will make a slim version of that head and if I should wait.

Really late reply, and maybe someone else already has, as I am reading through the thread now, hahaha, but I had an email exchange with Matt today and he didn't make it sound at all likely they'd be doing a less-blade-forward (neutral) version.  I was hoping they'd do so as well, but it does not seem it's gonna happen.

In any event, I sold all my Timeless razors some time ago (never had a Ti version) but am thinking hard about getting a Slim Ti solid bar even though I'm more or less positive it's too blade forward for me.  The slim head is what is seriously enticing me; the bulkiness of the heads is what drove me to sell off the multiple versions of SS Timeless razors I had.

I have read and have been told so many contrasting views regarding the Slim Ti. 
Some have mentioned it is quite mild and not much blade exposure and others have stated that it does have good blade exposure and it is quite aggressive. 
Not sure what to think. The only way to find out is for me to actually order one, at some point, but it'll be the OC plate to make sure the exposure is there.

How long did it take for your Tibam handle to get from Russia to the US?
