I'll have a full report up shortly, but I didn't shave yesterday - came up with a better test. Today was with two days growth (one less than Monday) and it's slipping along the jawline. Tomorrow will be one day's growth and I'll even sweeten the deal with a fresh blade. Then on Friday, compare to the .68, also with a fresh blade.

So far I find it okay but not outstanding, but that is only two shaves and only an old Wilkinson Sword (England) blade.  I will put it aside for awhile and then try it with some other blades.

To be vintage it must be older than me!
The last razor I bought was the next to last razor I will ever buy!

it looks outstanding though, maybe they need to produce more aggressive plate

I just ordered the bronze. I will update the thread. Smooth for me is just what the doctor ordered so I will update the thread.

I'm not much of a fan of "aggressive" razors but I do like efficient razors. There is no reason an efficient razor should be aggressive unless it is meant for folk that like to feel the steel.

I have no issue losing a super sharp blade with a razor I intend to be a daily driver, in fact I prefer it. I hope the Bronze is exactly that kind of razor. Eventually, there will be additional base plates that will more allow blade feel making the razor more versatile. I believe I could be content without them, if necessary. The fun will be acquiring the set over time.

Last shave today... One day of growth, fresh PolSilver... Fail. This razor just doesn't do it for me unless I have three days growth, which makes it a Monday morning only razor and not the daily driver I had hoped for.

I had thought about returning it, but will probably hold onto it, because I love the razor... I'll just have to wait for additional base plates.

Its interesting how many folks aren't digging the shaves. I've heard from a few that it shaves very similarly to the .68 plate which would suit me perfectly. I will give it a rip for a week or two when I get it and try to determine what to do. I badly wanted this razor, its just very beautiful and smooth always sounds great to me. Hopefully I dont end up having to send it back.

That was my understanding going in, straight from Matt @ Timeless. Alas, it doesn't come close to the .68 versions - which I'll be comparing directly tomorrow.
