I've been shaving with DEs since about 1963. Straights, DEs, SEs, twin blade disposables ... I've cut myself more than a few times over the duration, and I may cut myself again before it's over, but it is not the razor that is at fault. Pilot error causes cuts/nicks. Not blade gap or exposure. Load up that .95, stretch skin where it is necessary/advisable, and shave with that thing.

agree 100% it was definitely pilot error. i should of mentioned i only shave part of my cheeks and neck as i have a beard. also im a bit of a reckless driver. and i cant drive stick. so i like razors on the milder side. im pretty sure with more practice i will get the same shave as i get with the 65 with less passes. lately with my preshave setup i have been getting shaves that when i apply alum and alcohol AS, i get close to zero burns. my cheeks is rough also. i go against the grain on first pass and buff it to bbs. so i bet if i were to shave my complete face, i would probably use the 95 on my cheeks. i am however amassing a straight razor collection and maintenance gear for a switch to straight razor shaves. i would post pictures of my stuff but i cant post pictures. i just got a razor from 1960 haha.
