That Bald Guy with the Big Beard
Bishop, CA
I couldnt watch the whole thing on my phone...just too much to see on a tiny screen.

But...instead of beating the poor guy up, why doesnt someone email his youtube channel with an invitation to DFS and help the guy out? Seems like it would be a lot more constructive than just bashing a stranger for trying something new...

That guy had a lot of nerve.

I wish that I had all that nerve.

If I had had all that nerve, I would have earned much more money.

Then I asked him are you aware why you cut ur self on the first stroke even though ur going slow? the dude applies tons of pressure.... what a noob.

If this guy shaves with DE razor for years, then me shaving only 2-3 months with DE, I will put him to shame. Only 3 months experience and I have no problem setting the Futur on level 6 or the Rockwell on plate 6 with brand new Feather and do 3 passes in matter of 3-5 minutes that's including touching up and come out with no skin irritation and maybe few minimal nicks just because I hate doing things slow so even my shaving is super fast.

This dude though, goes super slow and still blood bath.... and yet he posts a video of how to shave with DE razor.... this is what I call a noob with a diploma
I'm sure everyone here is very impressed with your super shave skills and all but you come off like a cocky high school tennis player. The guy clearly made some mistakes, possibly on purpose, but I hope you don't really think you're a better man because your good at shaving.

"High School tennis player" is quite a specific reference, and no where in @Blagoja Radjevski 's comment is there a statement where he claims to be, "…a better man because [he] is good at shaving." I don't think you're talking about the man in this video anymore. This appears to be something else from your personal life.
As to critiquing the video and its main character: whenever we publicize something we have to be willing to take negative criticism for it. I do not think a grown man deserves credit for trying for video that demonstrates he does not have the skill he claims to have. He did not add anything useful or substantive by making this video and uploading it. It is hubris and nothing more for him to tell people to ask him for advice, cut up and bloodied as he is at the end. That he uploaded this despite his poor outcome indicates he wanted attention more than to contribute to any accrued knowledge base for wet shaving.
I don't understand the need to defend his efforts when the outcome is so poor. It makes me wonder what emotion is at the root of those reactions, especially since it indulges in the logical fallacy of attacking the source rather than engaging the argument he or she makes.
But, as with most discussions in this forum, this too will be a spitting contest and I have no umbrella. I don't expect any cogent answers here so I will not read this thread any longer. My final observation is that this forum does not appear to be a place for the free exchange of ideas, as it claims to be. I work with Axis II disorders for a living. I choose not engage them here.

Wait, how did you come to that conclusion when lance3114 and Blagoja were free to post their comments, and you were free to respond?

If we all could only post (for fear of censure) "Isn't it great that the guy in the video was trying to be helpful?" then this wouldn't be a discussion forum, as we'd all just post "+1" in agreement - and what a waste of time that would be! The very fact that we have posted different opinions on the video contradicts your conclusion.

lance3114: there is ZERO indication that the guy in the video made any mistake "possibly on purpose". ZERO! But like I said above, we're free to have and post our own opinions, so as you've posted that, I would love to hear why you think that is.

I'll go first, explaining my opinion:
- The entire video is done in a serious tone
- There is no title and/or or ending card/caption saying "This was a SPOOF of typical How To Shave videos"
- The guy drew blood (many times) and didn't even acknowledge it; if it was on purpose for comedic or educational value, he would have certainly pointed it out - either to say (jokingly, but with a straight face), "No big deal, you'll get used to the sight of blood pretty quickly when you use a safety razor" or "Oops. I guess I used to much pressure".
- The video appears to be a one-off. If it was just one video by a YouTuber who was already known to be a prankster, humorist, satirist etc., we would have a frame of reference. As we don't, and as there has been no follow-up by the guy in the video or the account holder who uploaded it, in light of all of the above, we have to take it at face value.
