I decided to order the shaving brush The Varlet.
It is clear that expensive, but no more expensive than Sebum Blue))
I made an order on the website of The Varlet and then wrote Aldo.  Aldo kindly replied that he would do everything possible to fulfill the order.

What shaving brush and with what additional options is better (density, knot, handle, copper insert, polishing etc.)?

Gentlemen, I will be very grateful for your comments and your experience.

What do you like in your current badger rotation of brushes? I assume many prefer backbone and very soft tip brushes but know every one is individual. I have tried a few of Aldo's brushes so I try to recommend if you let me know what type of brush feel you want.

Thanks a lot!

I liked the shaving brush from M&F size 26 on the face: the density of the knot and elasticity, but I wanted a more longer handle.

I have a favorite now brush M&F blonde size 29 (nice and tight) - a comfortable  handle, but big for me, although I really like it.

There is another badger from AoS size 24 - a very comfortable handle and the ratio of the length of the handle and the knot, but too soft for me.

I had and still have a few badgers, but these are my favorites.

I don't like hard badgers, but soft ones too. I Like when a badger envelops my face and massages, but does not scratch.

Sometimes I cook soap in a bowl and finish on my face.

Making me think what you would really like is an older Varlet Ranger 25 Finest

For a long time I did not dare to order a shaving brush from Varlet.
I am not sophisticated in shaving brushes and I have few of them.
I made an order on the site around June 18. On June 25, Aldo wrote (politely) asking him to confirm the possibility of completing my order in the feedback form on the site.
A few days later, Aldo replied that he would do everything possible to fulfill my order.
I hope everything will be OK.

Certif I am trying to confirm, your MF has how big of a knot? I can't tell if it really is a 29mm knot and wasn't a typo. I'm thinking you may want something like a Ranger or even bigger. I think a 27mm may be a good size for you but maybe a Gaslamp would be nice on your hands for grip.

posting here instead of creating a new thread for Varlet:

bit of background:

After just recently coming back again to loving badgers (2 past years have just used synthetics) and loving my new M&F Finest 28mm, I want to try to get some of the top brushes in the market today (in the high end market).

Saw the Varlet as very highly regarded brush (although expensive) but I have a few questions, mainly regarding the knot size (27 or 29mm) and the best knot (Standard high density or XD extra dense). I have the handle option pretty set (i want the ranger on 2 tone)

Any info on this will be greatly appreciated, as I will use the input to then make the order request (which I know will take around 3 months)

another question: could anyone that have used the Varlet Beehive comment about its ergonomic/comfort? I just made the order request for beehive 29mm normal knot (carbon) but i could change to the ranger if the beehive is not comfortable to use during the shave.

I liked the original shape of the Varlet beehive from 2015 more than the current one but if I had to order another Varlet, I would go for the ergonomics of the handle alone of the Ranger.
