The Twig is getting a lot of love. I bought one and it's beautifully made. They're going to make one in stainless steel so for fans of stainless, it's on the way.
For me, the point of a single edge is the thicker blade. It has a different feel than a DE and better longevity. I don't prefer it, but I enjoy the differences.
I expected the Twig to somehow be different though it uses a standard DE blade. Dumb of me. The shave feels like a shave with a DE except I have to rinse more often. And, even though it's the Twig not the more aggressive Thorn, there's lots of blade feel.
The pros: the narrow head makes it easy to shave under the nose. If you shave your body, the narrow head is likely useful. I shave my face, so it's useful but mostly for the upper lip.
It's well designed and has a good weight. Easy to load. The angle is easy to find. It gives a good shave.
The cons: the DE blade means it's not much different from a regular DE except for the head geometry, and maybe that's the point. There's lots of blade feel so if you prefer a milder razor, the Twig might not be for you. There's no way to tell from the razor if it's a Twig or a Thorn. I've heard there's a raised bump on one and not the other but it would be good if they stamped the name on the razor.
If you like SE razors because of the feel of injector blades, GEM style blades, or Artist Club style blades, you probably can skip the Twig. If you love DE blades and you want a nifty and nimble SE razor, try it.
