Rob, FWIW, I just keep a tally mark on the blade wrapper after every shave.
Pay no attention to what others tell you. They'll just drive you nuts. Drive yourself. Do what makes YOU happy. If I listened others... well there were few others when I decided on what I decided regarding SE razors. Certainly few others who were as strident in their defense of SE razors and drove the vintage SE razor "industry" years ago. There were a few though. Sharpspine is one. There were others whose user names escape me and for that I pre-apologize to them. I remember them, I just can't remember their user names. It sux to have a brain with concussion damage as a youngster. I've had "conversations" with these folks, yet can't remember their user names. You can't imagine how frustrating this is for me. I need to ask my wife about names before we enter a family get together.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Been very busy with life, work, and school. But I have been staying true to SEptember. Plan on using the rocnel se and mongoose for the remainder of the month. I got a lot of shaves in with the MMOC and can now get an easy and quick irritation Free BBS shave with it, a superb razor that's for sure. Also spent some time with the featherweight, though I just realized I didn't touch the clog pruf once this month so I think I'll see about getting it in this week. Looks like you are all having a great time with these awesome single edge razors.

SOTD-26sep16:
GEM Featherweight / GEM PTFE Stainless Steel
Stirling Soap Co. 24mm Finest
Cold River Soap Works Select v.2 Spiced Amber
Soap Commander Passion Aftershave Balm
This was a very pleasant shave! CRSW Spiced Amber soap and SC Passion ASB compliment each other very well. They have a very similar scent notes list. Anyway, they both smell very good!

Flintlock, nice! They don't appear to have head damage from slamming into the handle. To keep them that way, always make sure one hand is wrapping the handle as the head is flipped open. It's a small thing, but otherwise the head on the ER '24 will get scarred. Hold the razor as described and flip the head open. The potential problem will be immediately apparent if the hand wasn't there.

Well, today's initial plan was thrown out the window. Received a new razor in the mail yesterday and just had to try it today. It happened to be a DE so I skipped my first SE shave for the month of September, almost went the whole way with only single edges, they are what I primarily use anyways so they didn't mind taking a rest for a day
