I only have 2 vintage SE razors and the only SE razors I have. One is a GEM Contour 2 and a GEM Damaskeene with it's original box and blade bank with one vintage Damaskeene blade in it's wrapper IN the blade bank.
Also count me in the Single Edge gang.

The contour is extremely mild and somewhat cheap feeling in the hand, but all the 1912 variations are great shavers in my opinion. The best place I've found for gem ptfe coated stainless blades is Connaught in the UK. It's $22 shipped for 100. Enjoy!

Cool Cody!

So are you a L.O.S.E.R. also? (lover of single edge razors)

It's the only way I know of that that acronym can be a good thing.

Hi folks. Im kinda new around here, but I joined this forum because I found this thread dedicated to SE's Smile

Im afraid I do not have a vintage razor, but I have just purchased a Mongoose II (however Its been sitting in my den unused for a week as Im awaiting my blade sample pack and as I live in Alaska and mail here takes 30 odd times longer, my razor will be vintage by the time I get to use it!)

Joking aside - soaps or creams? Or if I pick a high end cream like SMN or ADP will my SE preform well anyway? I want cushion and glide/slickness, and a great post shave feel.

Im not new to this wonderful hobby, I use an iKon short comb (its wonderful) and my favorite creams are DR Harris, Trumper and SJOL. I want to stick with creams as soaps dry my skin out somewhat, money is no object and I want high end. I just want the best for my cool looking new razor.

Thanks in advance.

I fully support your cream addiction. I'm an oil man myself and get equally great results with my SEs

Yes I guess you could say that. I did want to know. I do not see a way to put my signature as I cannot find a way to do it. Do you happen to know how to do this?

Click on your user name in the upper right corner of your monitor. You'll get a drop down menu. Click on user settings. Then to the left find and click on signature. You're on your own after that. Play with it. You can't screw things up for long without correcting it.

Pretty much anyone can help you if you get into trouble, but I doubt that you will.
