REVIEW OF THE OUMO LIGHTHOUSE ST-2 BRUSH 25mm
I have now had the brush for a few days and found out that it is a sponge for water and lather. My first attempt to use it resulted in too much water in the lather. I am a bowl latherer and a face painter. Today's shave caused me to be dutiful of squeezing out the water from the brush. Even after I did that, I squeezed a 2nd time and little more came out. This knot is a water hog. That said, once I started to build the lather the brush worked great. Please note, like a Badger, this particular fiber is also a lather hog. I had to scrape the brush on the side of my bowl to release it back into the bowl. There was no issue in the final lather creation. The application to the face was an unexpected pleasure. This brush is so soft that I was really taken back. This feel just adds to the shaving pleasure. The handle is a delight to hold.
Because this knot has nearly no backbone (2 on a 1-10 scale), Oumo thought it would help to insert the knot further into the handle. I guess they thought this would add some stiffness to the brush. By doing so, the brush looks much smaller.
All in all, it is an excellent brush. if I were to buy it again, I would choose the larger knot sizes.
Is this brush worthy of a recommendation, YES.
