Personally, I think that's the best knurling of any razor I've held, except maybe a BBS1. The Janus is a perfect example of what happens to nice, crisp knurling when it gets polished. All of the crisp edges get rounded. The aesthetic improvement isnt worth the performance loss. The Janus knurling was just bad all around, imo.

The tooling marks are horrid. Knurling is fine IMO.

I was lucky enough to buy a ajustable 2020 model. The most technologically advanced and high-quality machine among all that I have seen and held in my hands.Some General conclusions:
First of all, the advantages of a razor:
1. The quality of the instrument.
Made very high quality
High level of polishing
2. Balance and handle.
Despite the weight of 170 grams, the machine has an excellent balance and a tenacious knurling on the handle and its length, allows you to lie perfectly in the grip.
3. Maneuverability.
The machine is very maneuverable and use in hard-to-reach places does not cause any difficulties.
4. Tactility.
The machine is very effective in everyday shaving.
The machine is omnivorous to blades. (These are my friend's impressions of the 2019 razor, which fully apply to the 2020 model)
Impressions:
1 This is the most effective razor I have. With any blade and almost all modes of operation (numbers) gives a clean shave (BBS).
2 Very "aggressive". I have the maximum values at which I can shave with any blades no higher than 2. But at the same time, both 1 and 0 effectively shaves.
3 Is similar in character to apollo micron, but even more aggressive and effective.
4 The quality of shaving is superior to the classic Cobra, which I considered the best.
5 It is Necessary to get used to the movements and angle of inclination when working with this razor. Similar to a micron and different from most conventional DE razors
6 Definitely today for me will be the standard of high-quality shaving.
7 Very sensitive adjustment. For example, 1 may be "aggressive, but already 0.8 comfortable

Based on my conversation with Murat, the geometry "has been little changed". The differences are aesthetic, 3d engraving, wider knurled grooves and gold plating. It apparently weighs 170g. While I didn't confirm currency exchange personally, cost should be around $690.

Since the release of the 2020 Sailor S, I've been running my prototype quite a bit.  Until today, I had never run it higher than one full rotation back to the dot.  Yesterday an IG post by George george1906  mentioned running the Model S at 1 full turn, back to 1.  Dude threw down the gaunlet, so I decided to take the challenge today.  1+1 setting for the WTG pass and the same for an ATG pass.  I turned it down on full rotation to 1 for the final half pass.  Even at 1+1 it was very smooth.  It certainly has blade feel but it's not harsh, at all, like the 2019 can be.  I've commented before it is essentially an adjustable Wolfman WR2...and then some.  Uh huh, it is. I have used every WR2 gap from .95mm to 1.65mm and have kept 1.15mm to 1.65mm for a true 6 position WR2 collection.  The 2020 Sailor, despite it's cons, is by far the best razor I've used to date. At setting 1 it is Paradigm 17-4 smooth with a little more blade feel and it cuts closer than the 17-4.  Opened back around to the dot, it is more efficient than a WR2 1.65 and arguably smoother.  The 2020 Sailor just does it all...in one convenient package.  I like the Prototype so much in fact, I ordered a Model S too.  It's that good, for me.

After today's shave, I sat down with a set of feeler gauges to try and figure out the gaps.  The adjustment mechanism is constant from locked down until the cap is released, however only about 2.5 rotations are usable in that the springs still exert clamping force on the blade, through the base plate.  If that makes sense.  Because it is fluid, with no clicks for the 6 setting, setting the exact gap with any precise repeatability is a challenge.  I used my eyes, with glasses to judge.  There are markings on the dial, a DOT indicating 0, and numbers 1 thru 5, then back to DOT

I measured the gaps as follows.  For simplicity, I think a .15mm jump per setting is pretty close, and makes the math easier.

DOT = .85mm
1 = 1.0mm
2 = 1.15mm
3 = 1.30mm
4 = 1.45mm
5 = 1.60mm
DOT = 1.80mm
1+1 = 1.95mm

Below are some photos of the Sailor and a Wolfman WR2 head for comparison.
