Cheers to all who have ordered a Mamba so far. Looks like they’re still in stock at 21:00 PDT. [Yes, my days have 24 hours in them. Smile]

Just for future reference, from what I understand, Italian Barber sends out the same number of e-mails as they have number of items in stock. The next time they receive stock, they’ll send that amount of e-mails to the following people who had subscribed, and so on.

If my memory serves me correctly, this initial offering was supposed to be at least 1,200 Mambas.

I’m eager to start reading people’s first impressions of this new iteration of the razor.

A quick note. I got a notification that there would be a short hold up on shipping before placing my order but then later in the day I got an email that my item was shipped so it's already on it's way. Can't wait to take it for a spin.

I decided to take a pass on this one. Not a fan of the long handles.

This is an adjustable length handle, unscrew the end piece and it gets almost a half inch shorter.

Funny, I read the long description numerous times and never noticed the part about an adjustable handle. But I have no experience with the RR handles so maybe that was common knowledge. Good to know! Either way, I'm happy with my decision to hold off and go with the Colonial General SS instead. For now!

In terms of balance the Mamba handle is much better suited to the new (heavy) Ikon SBS head, it's way too hefty for the light 28g Mamba head.[Image: 27c6fe3c0665be8e65cd9f688a2e5fc1.jpg]

This is not considered the optimum balance point for control of a safety razor, way too far south. I know a lot of customers think heavier is always better, an engineer would tell you different. It's much improved with the knob removed, perhaps even better with the lighter titanium Halo handle which is what I'll try.

Second shave I swapped in my Titanium Baby Smooth handle. Much better balance. The handle is far too heavy imo.
It’s a really nice DE in initial use but I had to correct the disproportion with the Ti handle.
