I'm a little late to this party but I love cold water shaving. I think the best benefit for me is it tightens the skin and seems to reduce blade skipping. And the cold water helps with inflammation and irritation that can result from shaving. I even cold water shave with mentholated soaps, just adds to the kick. But I am not a big fan of very heavy menthol such as the glacial soaps by Stirling, that much menthol just hurts even with warm water.

I still do it, mostly in the summer months. Welcome to the party!

How cold is cold water shaving? Is it as cold as the tab can deliver or do you use refrigerated water?

I used to shave with warm to hot water and had a lot of problems. After getting some advice I switched to cold water and I've had great shaves ever since. Like Jerry, I've shave twice with Arctique in cold water. I completely agree with him that it was borderline uncomfortable. The soap is amazing, but going through three passes with that intense cold is tough.

Cold water shaving is great, if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.

I started cold water shaving a few months ago (when it was still cold in Colorado). The tap water in this warmer time is still cold enough. But with I vacationed in Florida I did a few ice water shaves since the tap water there is not very cold. And I sometimes rub an ice cube over my face after my final rinse.

I just use the cold from the tap. I've never tried ice water.

I have never used iced water, tap temperature is fine to me and I live in the South.

Tried it tonight and now I have a 2-3" area of razor burn on my neck Sad
Not for me. Hopeful it healed enough for shave tomorrow.

I don't usually use cold water, but since it was in the 90s on Saturday, I had a cold water shave with B&M Adagio and it was one of the best shaves of my life!
