The Gibbs Regable from Heritagecollectionshaving.

I was all prepared to have to upgrade the spring on mine, but have been pleasantly surprised that it is completely unnecessary. Though I can't say for sure above one turn open. Anybody have any news about the all brass model, I am prepared to pay and wait, but It's got to have a shorter handle?

When I turned to #9, I didn't have any issue with spring. For me, #9 has a good gap to clean 1 week growth fast. 
If you are not shaving rarely, probably you may not need to pass #6.  

I honestly prefer he keeps replicating other vintage razors: Walbusch, Apollo Mikron, L'essor Le Supreme or Endless Speed Shaver with Injector Blade. 
Currently, in market, we have so many iteration of Gibbs razor with different material. Brass Yaqi or Pearl, SS Rex Taiga Denali, or Ti Taiga. 

He is a good artisan, still I am hoping he can sell as much as possible what he will bring.

I used mine for the first time this morning. I had a good bit of growth. I set it at 1 full rotation of the turret, N to N. In hand it reminds me of a Gillette Super 109...but it feels like my Sailors at 3 or 4ish. It is a very smooth shaver no doubt. I quite enjoyed it. Not enough to displace anything I usually reach for, but it was fun trying it. I gave my son my replated D3 Fatboy to learn on. The Gibbs would be a better tool for him. I think.

Arrived this morning and it is on deck for tomorrow's shave!

Not being familiar with the original Gibbs, I have what is probably a silly question. I am figuring that I loosen the bottom knob, then turn the dial to the desired setting, and tighten the knob again. I know with Slims and Fatboys that you don't want to change the setting without first loosening the lock. Unless I am told otherwise, I plan to do the same with the Heritage Gibbs razor.

 That's my opinion too, I don't think it matters, but can't hurt a thing either.

I was able to connect with clouds and now have an amazing brass handle for my Gibbs 15. Thank you to everyone.

Observation on the Heritage remake:
Because the blade tray is the same on both sides it does allow for the adjustment issues discussed above. The original Gibbs blade tray only fit on one way. Has anyone else noticed the tabs on the blade tray on either end are just a touch (1mm) narrow? This allows the blade to sit slightly crooked when viewed from the top. It is easily corrected before completely tightening but does allow for uneven blade reveal.

Set the Gibbs replica on setting 2 this morning, sixth shave with the Wizamet blade, and a luxurious lather from the Stirling Unscented with Beeswax soap. Providing part of the luxury was the cashmere knot in the HCS Star/Kambro replica.  Very nice with on bleeder nick right under my septum. Finally stopped after several styptic pencil applications and now gives the appearance of needing to clean my nose!

The Gibbs has been an interesting trial so far. The first outing seemed rough, so I carefully loosened the pieces and then snugged them to my satisfaction This removed some of the play I noted in the blade tray. Next outing I dialed down to setting 1 for a very close and comfortable shave. Today's shave wasn't any less comfortable and seems a bit closer than the setting 1 shave, as I'd expect. The large gap also didn't seem to bother me today. I am not exactly sure what is changing when the dial is adjusted. The Gibbs doesn't move like a Gillette, and I have no other adjustable DE razors to compare it with. I assume the safety bar is dropping like a Gillette while the tray holds the blade to the top cap. I need to look more closely, but as I say, the gap seems large all the time.

I watched the video Subie Shaves posted on YT. A sturdier spring looks like a nice addition. He recommends the Rex Ambassador spring, which you can buy from Razor Emporium. But the shipping is almost $15 on a $10 spring, making this an expensive upgrade! Just my thoughts, and I don't know if I can find something at the local hardware store.
