Yes - I would have liked to have snagged one of the 25 (or even better a pre-prototype)

Maybe if somebody's prototype doesn't agree with them they can pass the deal on to you.

Normal (N) settings for both the aluminum Gibbs and the Heritage, 2nd use Feathers. Again more blade is felt with the Gibbs, and the lightweight model had more trouble ATG on the moustache and chin than the Heritage which was smooth and serviceable in its efficiency on the beard. As expected I wanted another razor for pick-ups on my head shave, today the 1913 Vector aka the Mark Cross.

Very much enjoyed the Heritage today. Lose the annoying dial + handle adjustment and it's really a fine razor for most folks for whom the geometry meets their needs.[Image: 56f041d0797436616a56c8a6f8aee587.jpg]

Just curious, but why use a different razor for the clean-up on the dome, as opposed to just dialing up the adjustable and using it?

Shaving my head stubble doesn't work that way. Generally, a milder rigid DE design, injector, or SE does better than a non rigid DE design wide open. The Gibbs and Yaqi designs are not particularly rigid and therefore not what I would choose as daily drivers for my head shave. Cranking this head up to 11 would not alter its character flaw for my needs, would just give more angle to work with and greater exposure.

My first impressions of the new Heritage Adjustable.  I'll follow up in a week or so with a full review once I've gotten to know this razor a bit better.

That's an easy fix (for me that is)

For the manufacturer as well. Beats me why they thought this was a good idea

I definitely prefer the Heritage at its 6 setting with handle tight. Still smooth, not particularly aggressive feeling at all. In contrast the Progress feels a little rough wide open (as does the Gibbs). The Progress might be a tad more efficient (no third razor pick ups) but can't deny the new contender did a great job. I usually use a shim in my Progress for additional rigidity but no shims this time. Second use BIC in both razors.

I have a friend from another forum who has offered to send me his Gibbs to use for comparison. It will draw things out a bit as I want to use the Gibbs a few times, then do some sidy-by-side shaves with the Heritage, Gibbs, and the Ambassador before doing my final review video. But it least it will be more thorough now.

I’m 4 shaves in with the Heritage Collection Gibbs and I’m enjoying it very much. A bit less blade feel the Gibbs but it produces an efficient and close shave. While it’s not exactly the same as the original, it’s damn close in my opinion. Next up I need to load up the Gibbs and do a side by side to see just how close they are for sure.

Same set up for the last 4 shaves:
Heritage Collection Gibbs
Zenith Chubby Scrubby
Modern Williams
Nivea Deep Vanilla and Bourbon
