I find it interesting the differences between this article, Facebook groups, and what we see on Amazon.

That list pretty much tracked my own list of some favorites, though not necessarily the exact bases. I was somewhat surprised to see how much it did.  I would have moved T+S up and mentioned Ethos - not sure Ethos would be in the top list because it can be difficult to get (and that’s a criteria) but it certainly deserves a mention. But still, to me, a fairly decent, not perfect, list.

I always take "Best" lists with a grain of salt.  Its just too subjective and not many shavers or reviewers have actually used every available soap and even if they have, again to subjective no matter how "scientific" you try to make the process.  The only objective measure that you could reasonably apply would be comparison of total units sold.  The soap with the greatest number of total units sold would then be, by definition, the best.  Also, while respecting Sharpologist, I've never completely agreed with any of his "best" lists.  Ive also never tried all of the items on his list.

Yeah, that one didn't register with me either but then I can't say I've tried any recently

Find Sharpologist recommendations specious at best.  Always regret the time wasted reading his output and swear to refrain in the future only to succumb with the same frustrations.

Any list without ETHOS in top 5 no matter the metrics just loses all credibility.  And many of the soaps included would not be used if paid to do so.  About half the soaps are appropriately included but that leaves half demonstrably wrongly included. The same criticism extends to every recommended list he has ever assembled.

Always remember, this man was a loud advocate of the most cynical consumer rip off marketing hyped scam in recent shaving history: OneBlade...need anybody heap more damnation than he has on self via that association

Missed mine by a mile. I read Sharpologists best list every year and enjoy it but so subjective. So many artisan soaps I know to be great that get not even a mention.
