Since early December I had several shaves with the Amakuni and the Schick blade, love it really. Absolutely smooth and very efficient, like a shave with La Faulx Medium and a little bit less efficient than the General. For me it was a very good decision to buy it.

Nice photos. What blades have you tried? Sounds like it may benefit from pro supers

Till now I have tried only a Schick and Kai Mild, but I will try with a Feather Pro Super, which will give more bladefeel and I hope more acoustic feedback

Scentsless Shaver

I am four shaves in with the Amakuni now. The first three shave were done with a Schick Proline P-30 that already had 4 shaves on it. Today was NOT the blade shown in the above photo, but instead a Captain Titan Mild ProTouch MG with 4 shaves on it. And what a great shave! Tomorrow I may switch to a fresh Captain Titan Mild blade to get another blade tried. I am finding this to be a great razor, and a great addition to the other fine shavers I have in my shaver drawer. And please note: the 'greats' refer to my face and my style and my experiences!

And a general sort of question came up: how do you store an AC blade if it has several shaves on it but you aren't ready to bin it yet? The blade I used this morning had been sitting on the countertop and I cannot vouch that it wasn't moved around a lot. I once put a blade back in the dispenser, but worried how much damage I might have done to the sharp edge as I manipulated the dispenser to accept the blade again.

I put a magnet inside my medicine cabinet for blade storage.

I use Butter paper from DE blades to wrap AC blade in a small tin box where I keep my other DE tucks in rotation.

Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
Another shave in with the Amakuni, this time with a fresh Kai Captain Titan Mild blade. I used PAA Scentsless and a Semogue 1305 boar. The shave went very well, very smooth. Yesterday's guarded Kai ProTouch MG seemed to have zero blade feel, while this blade maybe gave some. Memory says that the Schick Proline P-30 had a little more, but as I have slept since that shave, I can't be sure! I think that the magnetic cap makes changing the blade super easy, so we could test blades during the same shave without too much problem.

Note: I hadn't changed the ProTouch out yet when I took this photo!
