As to similarities razors take the best from previous designs . Wolfman evolved directly from the 1930s Darwin and the 20s New Improved.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I am interested to read your impressions.

The first shave was very good. I'll give it a few more before I can compare it to some others.

First two shaves with a Gillette Silver Blue were very good, perhaps not as efficient as I like. Tonight I put in a fresh Feather and had an excellent two pass BBS shave with only a little touch up necessary on my chin. This was probably the best first shave I've had with a Feather blade. As you can see Tatara includes Feather blades with the razor.

The handling of the razor is very nimble, with a bit more weight towards the head. Two qualities I enjoy.

Two more shaves with the Tatara/Feather and I am getting great results. The shave is efficient without being aggressive- easy BBS, irritation free shaves. The head maneuvers well, the handle has a precision feel to it and overall balance is excellent.

The Tatara has performed better with each successive shave and is a pleasure to use.

If looking forward to using a razor qualifies it as a winner, then the Tatara Masamune is a winner!

I completely agree with your assessment. The Masamune with a Feather is perfection. I look forward to my morning shaves with this razor. Can't wait for my OC to arrive.

Just got mine in yesterday (the OC) and from packaging and presentation to build and feel, it's pretty top notch on the quality scale. I'm hoping the shave quality matches. From the last few comments on this post, I think I'm going to try it with the Feather, even though I'm not on speaking terms with Feather blades...

I would love to hear a comparison to the Paradigm 17-4.

It's quite different for me. My Masamune is open comb so the face feel obviously different. The Tatara has a lighter feel, the Paradigm being quite dense. The Paradigm has a special smoothness, while being efficient that I have not experienced to the same degree with other razors.

If I only had the Tatara and 17-4 I would be content, but would miss some of the other stellar razors in the den.
