Folks, in another thread, I posted that I had both tallow and veggie soaps that I liked and what I used was based on what scent I was in the mood for but never on tallow or veggie. If a soap is a poor performer, whatever its makeup, I simply don't use it.

For those of you who are strictly tallow users, what puts you so very strongly in that camp?

I mainly love the after shave feel.

Just so I'm clear on veggie soap classification, would that mean any soap that doesn't contain tallow?

That would be my take, Jerry.

Hector, have you tried the Soap Commander Soaps?. They leave my face feeling just as moisturized as Tallow based soaps. And I do like my Tallow Soaps.

I have and enjoy both but my favorites tend to be tallow. The lather is creamier and provides a better post shave.

In that case most of my soaps are Tallow, I do have a few veggie soaps but so far I don't prefer one over the other. I'd say i'm still relatively new to wet shaving. Just started beginning 2014. Currently, if it's a brand I've tried and like I pick off of scent. If it's new, I'll judge its performance to see if it's a keeper, before trying other scents.

So as a whole it has been the slickness and face feel. I though have been venturing into veggie based soaps. Tim's is in my top 3 soap brands at the moment. Actually Tim's is my only veggie soap at them moment now that I think about it.

Soap Commander, and WSP's Fougere Noire intrigue me.

Mainly at this point I want good scent and good performance. If it looks like I am going to get that from veggie soap then I will go with that.

No, I'm trying not to buy more soaps for a time, too many to go through, lol......I'll keep it on the future list, thanks!

Soap Commander is great post shave. WSP Rustic is remarkable too.

My only beef with either revolves around the containers. Although a good value, the 6oz container from SC is a lot of soap and I like the smaller, seasonal size myself.

WSP looks cool in the smaller tin but it can be a bit of a hassle to load with larger brushes and wish they were more like Jon's or CRSW, etc.
