Surf’s up! Let’s keep summer alive with something gnarly for the craft beer fans.

Introducing West Coast IPA, by Tallow + Steel.

Hang ten, hit the lip, and then chill out and enjoy the hoppy aroma of a freshly poured India Pale Ale. Blended with a perfect balance of citrus and hops, West Coast IPA was created using extracts of three American hop varieties, combined with essential oils of grapefruit, tangerine, orange, lemon and pine.

Please enjoy responsibly.
| 0.0% ABV | 60 IBU | Limited Edition |

Available August 31 at retailers and tallowandsteel.com

This sounds awesome. Question. Is it supposed to smell just like an IPA or is it more of an inspiration of the scent character. I ask because I don't necessarily want to walk into my office smelling like beer, but I love the scent profile description!

Smile But I also just had to comment on the label designs. I think it’s simply brilliant how you took the same layout as the rest of your new product line has, but gave it a casual look that’s more appropriate for the product being released. Bravo!

Thanks! It's awesome to put work into something and have someone recognize the finer details like that. You surely have a good eye for design, do you work in that field?

It smells pretty close yeah! But more of the citrus/bitter/hops smell. I think you'd be ok though - I'd wear it to the office.

Well, if anyone asks, I'll say "this is how they roll in Canada." Should be ok then right? Big Grin

For sure! Tell them it’s a tradition up here to use beer as aftershave since we can’t get supplies delivered to us during the harsh winters. Big Grin

The first picture I saw of your new line was of a tub of Maya, and I immediately knew I had to own one, just for the labeling alone. Smile (I don’t work in the field of design, but design is something I’ve been conscious of for as long as I can remember.)

I’d imagine that a lot of us pay attention to packaging designs, so it’s definitely worth the effort and work you put into them. I recall you mentioning that the original Tallow + Steel packaging was designed by someone else, and these new ones are your own designs. (Is that correct?) While the originals were very nice, I feel like these new ones are yet on a different level altogether. Fine art for the shaving den!

Also, the above exchange you guys had somehow reminds me of how my grandmother would occasionally wash her hair with beer … I shall carry on the tradition by applying West Coast IPA on my whiskers. Happy2

Cool! Yeah the original labels were sort of a mix of partially us, partially graphic designer. We had everything done, and the last thing we were trying to figure out is the labels. I was never 100% happy with them, but it got to a point that it was taking so long so we released them. The new ones are done by myself and my girlfriend, just learning as we go.

OK, so I don’t understand this “learning as we go” thing — you have already arrived! (The new labels are superb.)

Thanks for the link, that was a fun article to start the week with. Smile Looking forward to West Coast IPA. Cheers!

That fellow isn't clear on the concept of shower beers. Also tins are preferable for obvious reasons Big Grin

Thanks Ryan for bringing back memories of a summer outdoor construction job I had many years ago in Toronto and area - so hot and humid (especially for a Western boy) I'd get home from work needing a beer and a shower and being unable to determine which need was more pressing, I combined them - shower beers. The pause that refreshes.
