Tallow and Steel Review

I got a tub of T+S Rainforest from the US branch of Mensessentials. I ordered it on Saturday and it arrived to Boston, MA next Monday!!!! This is THE fastest service ever!!!! I paid under $4 for shipping, so my total cost was $29.

The soap smells outrageously GOOD, delicate, and sophisticated. Performance is second to none.

Is it worth $29?...

ABSOLUTELY!

I agree, the performance of Tallow & Steel is pretty damn good. Can take on a buttload of water so it's important to be mindful of that, which I'm still trying to do. The performance is tricky, though, in that it doesn't *feel* very protective or slick, but it is.
While I don't normally love cedarwood, I actually am really enjoying it in this soap. However, I wish the bitter orange note was toned down. Oddly enough, I only really smell it when Im washing the lather off my face so it's not that big of a deal.

I'm glad to see Rainforest getting good reviews - my personal favourite scent.

Funny you should say that regarding the wild orange. We spent an absurd about of time tweaking how much orange should go in the scent until we thought it was just perfect. Since launching the two things I see written mostly about Rainforest are "I wish there was less orange", and "I wish there was more orange"

Completely agree on the scent of this particular component as well as all the others - the quality of the essential oils really does elevate the whole. My feelings are no secret- you've nailed it with your product mix both on performance and scent profile.

Can't wait to see what's next!

The cost of shipping in Canada is the pits and I doubt with the new up and coming model, it's going to get better. That bring said, does it deter me from ordering? It certainly depends on the day and my mood but eventually I fall off my wallet and suck up the costs. I appreciate that T&S are honest about their costs. Some would just bury the bulk of the shipping cost in the product and that would be that. In a weak moment I will no doubt make and order but I'm pretty full up with soap.

Now that I have all of the collection I must say I love all the scents for their uniqueness. Performance is top notch, lathers easily and has not disappointed. I wouldn't call any of these light scented but some are very clean (classic just makes me want to get up a shave, and take on the world) that being said they are very complex so I will still likely use other everyday scents, but these are definitely a must try and will be a regular sight on the bathroom counter. If you haven't tried them give them a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I could no longer resist. I am weak, my brothers. Ordered the Dark and Rainforest collections. w00t!

Same here, ordered the Classic set yesterday. After all the comparisons to B&M (personal favorite) and the weeknd sale, I could not resist at least giving it a try.
