RudyVey does have the STF V2 knots. This is the 25mm knot.

APShaveCo, TurnNShave, and Maggard are all great options for knots. I like to set them myself. I find if they're set too low I get that springiness that flings lather and water all over the place.

To my knowledge, the Mühle knots are actually made in Germany, and are probably the only synthetics that are. The DScosmetic knot in question looks very similar, but (as so many things from that region) is probably just a copy of the real thing.

Frank Shaving sells Pur-Tech knots, which also resemble the Mühle knots very closely. The knots cost almost as much as ordering an entire Mühle or Edwin Jagger brush from Europe, though.

I wish that Mühle would realize they could cater to the market by selling just their Silvertip Fibre knots. I would readily pay 3–4 times the price of an average synthetic knot for the “real” thing.
I'm with you.  Would love to get my hands on some legit Muhle knots.  I have one in a brush now. .forgotten all, about Frank Shaving Pur-Tech because at that price I buy badger.  Sure would like to try one though.

That brush looks great, and the knot is recognizable. Rudy does not seem to have the knots listed on his website. I’m guessing direct contact is the way to go. I wonder how he sources them…

I would imagine that the STF knots would sell quite well. I have a Mühle Silvertip Fibre XL, but the loft is a bit too high in my opinion. I still love the brush. I think Edwin Jagger sets theirs a little lower.

Epsilon also makes a Silvertip Fibre brush, but I’ve seen very few pictures, and am not sure if it’s the real deal, or some version of their own.

Frank Shaving sells their “fiber material from Germany” Pur-Tech 25 mm knot for $33. Like said, at that price, a decent badger knot can be had. (Though whenever possible, I would like to support synthetics for various reasons.)
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Good water retention. Bruce is a plissoft and Maggard sells a knot that will mimick it. The Starcraft knot I know absolutely, nothing about but PAA sells knots and I'd guess these will be the same knot they have in thier brushes.

Which knot do you think is the Muhle?

Some of you guys need to get more often as the Europeans have been left in the dust. I had a Muehle black fibre and then their silvertip synthetic back in 2014. They are Stone Age in comparison to current gen. YaQi knots/brushes.

Not much of a fan of the Yaqi knots. Their strength is pure softness and are true synthetics in a sense. I'm chasing the rarer bird of an artificial badger that gets as close to badger as possible.

Best of luck, Joe. The closest I have found is the Chubby 2 synthetic and that isn't even close as its characteristics are nothing like any badger brush I have tried.
Good luck.  Shy

I'll be needing to wait years more. The best I've found so far is the Omega Evo. Close to the Muhle STF, but it retains water better. Not a quest I'm in any rush to finish anyhow since I like badgers so well, but it's interesting at least seeing how close the gap is closing. Wink

yeah...water retention is not the STF knots strongest suit....but as long as you start with a little water on the soap
it works very well. I prefer the feel to badger. And I love how rugged these knots are.
