I came across these guys and had not heard anything but am interested in the concept.

Anybody else in the know or have actually had the opportunity to use one of their SE razors through Kickstarter or other?

I like the concept, seems a simple enough design and the price is right for a SS razor.

Hey Kevin,

Hope it's OK for me to jump in here - I'm the creator of the Single Edge injector razor. (mods, please let me know if I'm breaking any rules here.)

To answer your question, the only official review out on the interwebs is one done by Mark Herro of Sharpologist.com (http://sharpologist.com/2015/08/supply-p...razor.html). He's the main shave guru I worked with to iron out some of the details of the razor design. In short, he loved it. The few things about the design he didn't like have been adjusted (coincidentally, we didn't like them either).

You won't hear of anyone else having tried it yet because we haven't entered production yet. But we will this month! Can't wait to have them out there in the wild. Smile

It's a nice design and l really wish it will be an aggressive razor.
IMHO there are to many mild razors in the marker and to little aggressive razors.
I hope someone comes out with a R41 or Futur equivalent (in terms of aggression).

Hi Patrick, SupplyProvisionCo thanks for the response- one of the things I enjoy most about this particular community is the vendor/artisan participation and definitely appreciate your input.

I had seen Mark's review but was wondering if there were more seed units out in the field for user testing and if so, what people thought. Very positive response from Mark and a great place for you to get valuable feedback.

Will the unit ship with multiple base plates to adjust blade gap/exposure? Was also wondering if it would take standard injector style blades? Looks to but not sure as you also have blade options on the site. Can you share the tweaks that you made based on feedback? I assume one would be the set screw but was wondering what else may have changed.

Regardless, welcome to DFS! If you are looking for additional feedback I am sure there are a number of experienced DFS shavers that would be interested should you have additional units or even work with the mods for a pass around.

I did just place my pre-order as I very much enjoy supporting new comers to the space. Particularly those such as yourself that make a point of interacting directly with the consumers.

I am a backer of this project and hope to get the razor in March (2016'). Mine will come with three screw on heads (light, medium, and aggressive) which was only offered to the Kickstarter backers. We get monthly updates of the release. Everything is being made in the USA and contracts to produce the razor is a done deal. The prototype weighed in at about 4.2 ounces but the actual razor production will be slightly lighter and with a slimmer handle according to Patrick.

Great and thanks for the update Jerry- I hope that the SupplyProvisionCo plates ship with the post Kickstarter pre-orders as well. Would be nice to have the option to dial in the shave.

Through your monthly updates do you know if it accepts standard injector blades?

Exciting times in the shaving community with many fantastic options!

Will accept all injector blades (Personna,Schick). Also note the razor is 100% stainless steel. Patrick has almost 1000 backers but until I actually receive the razor it will be months of nervous time Happy

kwsher - thanks very much for the warm welcome. It's much appreciated. And thanks for the order! We're working on getting them produced as fast as humanly possibly - while still maintaining strict quality control.

The "pre-order" version of the Single Edge (as opposed to the Kickstarter version) does not come with the adjustable base plates. It only comes with the standard setting. It's the setting that most testers prefer. We're still considering whether the adjustable plates will be available in the future, but for now we're keeping it an "exclusive" option for our Kickstarter backers as a way of saying thanks to all of them for bringing our vision to life! That being said, we're just as thankful and committed to our pre-order customers. If for some reason you don't end up liking the standard shave setting, we'll do whatever we can to make you happy.

We haven't yet shared the design tweaks to the razor, but we've slimmed it down a bit to take some weight out, and redesigned the set screw to make it easier to operate. We're really happy with the result.

Jerry - thanks for being a backer, and for chiming in! We're just as anxious to have the razors as you are. It feels like the LONGEST Christmas Eve ever. Keep an eye out for a backer update soon about the razor production. We can't wait to show you our latest progress.

(PS - I need to figure out how to tag people in these comments. That's a nice little feature.)
