I always use an aftershave, the stronger-the-scent-the-better, and never expect the soap scent to carry over after I rinse the lather off my face. That's when the AS should take over.

I'm also not a mint fan, so many SS soap scents don't work for me. The White Sage & Lime is one I enjoy (although I would boost the scent). Cola is also a nice scent to my nose. Delor de Treget is my favorite but, of course, that scent comes from Chatillon Lux.

I'll buy that. If they turned up the "volume" on the WS&L it would be killer. I traded my Cola sample off as for me it was too obscure. I did the same with their Almond & Vanilla as having used Cella & 3P in the past the scent now damn near gags me. Sad I stand firm in that their best scent for me is their Lavender & Peppermint. I would like to see that in a tallow and a new stronger orange based one as well. I believe simple scents are a better bet and not obscure ones such as the Declaration Grooming Bandwagon which to me smelled like flowers placed on burning sheet metal. Confused

I couldn't have said it better than CCity. Also not a fan of mint or citrus. I smelled all of them that were available at the time when I was at Maggard last year. None of them appealed to me. If I'm going to buy (yet another) full tub of soap, I want it to be a scent I enjoy. So sue me. I don't wear frags so my scent experience comes from the shave itself and the aftershave for a couple hours. The only ones I haven't sniffed are Cola, Rain and Rose and Black Pepper (which I was very close to buying when it came out, but I already had a couple rose scents).

Well you didn't try very hard! Tongue It is a very nice razor, but not one I "had to have". The light weight makes me feel like it's not one I would reach for often. I do like the shave it gives though. I'm sure you won't have a hard time selling it. $65 is a great deal.

I wasn't really trying all that hard. The bold is the reason I'm selling it. Maybe I'll throw my parthenon in for an extra $1.

Let me preface this by saying that I hav a very unsophisticated 'nose', and complex fragrances are lost on me. As a result, I have a preference for simple, straightforward scents in my soaps.

I found the Sudsy Soapery's Uplift to have a 'Colonia-like' scent, lemon forward, yes, but there's more going on than that.

The performance is stellar, this is a lather with a lot of glide that got along very well with my straight razor shaves. Post shave was excellent.

But the star of the show was the AS balm which was fantastic. I've since got some other of the Sudsy balms, and they're very reasonably priced and top notch-very moisturizing, but not heavy or greasy at all. Reminds me a bit of the old Charles Roberts AS 'Conditioner'.

I believe it's verbena.

It took more water than their non-tallow version obviously, but simply fantastic super slick results!! This is just as good as B&M Reserve and maybe even a tad better, dare I say. Run, don't walk, to buy this!! At least for me this one just nails it and ticks all the boxes. Wink

Tried it. You’re right about most of this. The only disappointment....and a major one at that.....is post-shave. Very, very meh..at least for my face.....I even recoated my face with the lather as is my custom while cleaning up before I rinsed. This gives a soap the maximum ability in post shave. If they nailed this it might even beat out WKDM and GD....That said...the scent, cushioning, lather making and slickness are outstanding!

OK, glad you tried it. For me at least aftershave "face feel" is totally meaningless as I wash with a cleanser after shaving and then apply lotion as well as an AS splash. As I live on the Gulf Coast where it is hotter than the hubs of Hades and humidity junglelike it becomes even more meaningless as within minutes of leaving any AC bldg. a person is sweating like a drug mule going through Customs and their face becomes a wet "mop". Gave this soap a whirl yesterday. I've had SS in the past. Scent and slickness are well above par for most soaps including their vegan version. The lime is nice, bright and strong. The Post shave (for me) is right up there with Declaration, WK, Jabonman. I was using a "New to ME" Barbasol FP razor and the Soap was the protection I needed to make this shave an easy one. If or when they have more tallow scents, I would consider buying more despite already having enough soaps for three faces or two life times.

I'm not sure what happened to my reply to this last week. Looks like someone deleted my post or my browser coughed up a hairball.
I couldn't disagree with you more about the SS balm. It's by far the greasiest balm I've ever used. I can only imagine ever using this balm in sub-zero temps when I have to work outside in the winter, so I'm confused why SS would release a decidedly Summer-like scent with a heavy balm such as this with no alcohol-based splash. Missed opportunity if you ask me. I would have jumped on the matching splash if they had it. The SS Lavender/Mint splash I have is excellent.

*Edit
Oh, and these labels are the worst! Not waterproof, not alcohol proof, not even "own-product" proof. At least spray some Scotchgard on the labels before shipping eh?
