Razor: Wolfman WR1 (.80 gap) & Wolfman WR2 (1.25 gap)
Brush: Brad Sears - Arley 25mm
Soap: Los Jabones De Joserra - Viriato
Aftershave: Fine - Fresh Vetiver
Blades: Wizamet

This is a razor shootout I’ve wanted to do for a while now. The WR1 vs WR2. Both razors had a new Wizamet blade and both had a similar weight/size handle.

I shaved the left side of my face with the WR1 and the right side with the WR2. The playing field was even and I had no idea who would win after I put them side by side for 4 full passes with touch-ups.

Right off the bat, I noticed the WR1 had more blade feel. No surprise here. I expected that. The WR2 strangely had more audible feedback and was clearly smoother on the skin while shaving.

Both gave me a perfectly close shave. No winner on this front! They were both equally efficient and did an excellent job at every pass.

All I can definitively say is the WR2 felt smoother and the WR1 had more blade feel.

They both bring a very different experience to the shave so it would be hard for me to say one is “better” than the other. But if I had to… at this point I may say my preference is the WR2 do to it’s slightly smoother feel.

Thanks for reading!

I just finished the video series. Thank you very much for that start to finish documenting a block of wood from a pest tree into a gorgeous looking handle (no mrdoug, I am not going to try to add this one to my expanding collection! Tongue)As others have said, it is the talking and explaining that push this from just a photographic record to an interesting documentary. Having almost non-opposable thumbs (!), I thoroughly enjoyed all the explanations. The very first one was compelling watching, as the handle emerged from the block. That is artistry, being able to see the handle you want and bring it out of the block.

A documentation of an acrylic (resin?) handle would also be on my to watch list! (For the record, I watched these videos instead of finding the Mandalorian!)

Razor: ATT X1 SE Slant w/ Mongoose Handle
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts - "Sea Glass No. 3"
Soap: GD - Aion
Aftershave: B&M - Lavanille
Blade: Feather Pro

New razor day (many thanks to local DFS'er Les  gvw755 for selling it to me and delivering it to my house! What a great guy! ). This razor is pretty much like the ATT SE1, but holds the blade at a slight angle.

After the first pass, I wasn't so sure about this one. It felt like it wasn't cutting and there was some awkwardness in finding the right angle. As I used it for the other passes, it occurred to me, that it was in fact cutting, I just wasn't feeling the blade at all. I got a very close shave from this razor. A SE slant, is a pretty unique thing... glad I got to snag it!
