Stirling is great in my opinion-the bang for the buck is really hard to beat with all of their stuff. I do not find the soaps to be unusually thirsty in order to get a nice, slick lather, but if pushed with water, they handle it pretty good without breaking down too easily.
Unless you are the lead dog, the view never changes...
When it comes to Stirling shaving soaps, I don’t find them any thirstier than most other soaps. And I have very hard water in my area. Having said that, I have also found that Stirling can take on quite a bit of water, and is one of the soaps I would consider using with the Marco Method (which is basically all about adding a generous amount of water right at the beginning of the lathering process).
Cocoa Forest is a great soap! Too bad Stirling may not be bringing that one back. (At least that was the indication a few months ago.) I have the South Padre body butter, and really enjoy the scent. It is a light summer scent, and I’m considering getting it in some of their shaving products.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I picked up some samples a while ago and ended up buying the full size of Ozark mountain after trying them all.
Sharp dressed man and the sandlewood burned the hell out of my face. The performance was there though.
The bay rum and Ozark mountain didn't burn at all. Ozark mountain is one of my favorite soaps.

I just got a tub of Margeritas in the Arctic, and in my opinion, this is the perfectly mentholated soap. A very gentle but distinct cooling sensation starting slowly and engulfing my whole scalp throughout each pass.
Not so much to be painfully cold or particularly bracing, but cold enough to provide a pleasant cooling sensation throughout the ahave. And of course, the matching splash performed exceptionally as all Stirling splashes do. Good stuff!
