I'm trying to decide between these two brushes and I'm quite confused! I'm interested in the 24 mm knot. I do own a 22mm from Stirling, it was so soft and comfy that I don't even use my silvertip anymore Confused the 22 is too small for me though so I need a bigger one, I also noticed that the RazoRock 24mm brush has a longer loft, which is definitely favorable in my case. Let me know your thoughts everyone. Thanks Cool

I don't own the Stirling but have several 24mm Plissoft brushes in various handles from IB which are fantastic values.

Great performance, good backbone but soft face feel. Happy2

I own 4 RazoRock synthetics and 6 Stirling synthetics.
Have owned all the more expensive synthetics - I have kept two of them, Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic and Plisson Pearl synthetic. Rest are sold.
The Stirling and RazoRock are both fantastic value brushes and you can simply not go wrong with them.
What if you don't like one of them ?
No worries, PIF it or use it as travel brush. They cost no more than Max $24.

I can highly recommend both the Stirling and RazoRock synthetics.

Buy both, they're cheap enough to try. I think what it'll come down to is the handle preference.

Like you, the 22mm Stirling brush was too small for my hands.

I have the RazoRock Bruce and the original Stirling Kong. The Bruce turned out to be a great brush, but it has a huge glue bump by my standards, and RazoRock confirmed to me that they all have the higher than usual glue bump. It still works great and is very similar to my Whipped Dog 24mm Ubersoft, although the Whipped Dog seems to splay a little easier. If you like a lot of backbone then the Bruce offers it, but it also has good splay. It is nothing like a Plisson as far as backbone or splay go, but it is the same type of fiber. As for the Kong, it's more like a Plisson as far as splay but offers more backbone due to the density and size of the knot. If I could shrink the Kong down to 24mm I would have the perfect brush, or if I could get a Bruce with a shorter glue bump that would be preferred. Still, both brushes are a joy to use and will remain in my rotation. The Bruce did shed several fibers the first use but has not shed anymore since. The only other synthetic of the 8 or 9 I've owned that has shed was my Ubersoft II (not to be confused with the Whipped Dog). That is my least favorite synthetic knot by the way. The only other synthetic out there that I would like to try at the moment is the Maggard 24mm. I just have to contact Maggard and ask about the glue bump.

I have the Stirling Kong, which I believe is larger than you are looking for but I absolutely love it. "Soft and comfy" is a perfect way to describe it. Winking

I have both the RR original 24mm Plissoft and the RR Monster 26mm Plissoft and they are both outstanding brushes for $10-12. Can't go wrong. In fact I could use these exclusively, but I like variety so I also have a couple badgers and boars in the rotation.
