I've been looking to pick up some aftershaves for the summer, and noticed that a number of vendors now split them between 3 categories, Splash, Balm and one I've not noticed earlier - Toner.
What the heck is the difference between a Splash and a Toner?

Toner is usually low alcohol or alcohol free. Most of them are a witch hazel and aloe mixture.

I tend to navigate towards the hybrid splashes that contain witch hazel - especially since I use a moisturizer also.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of toners will have a more viscous feel to them, and can leave a thicker/oilier feel depending on the makeup of the ingredients. Just something to keep in mind since you mentioned picking things up for summer when it might be good to keep things light (and also depending on whether you have dry or oily skin).
Lots of good artisan options to check out though, good luck with your search.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind.
