Razor: Wade & Butcher
Razor: Atelier DURDAN Le Maurice 0.8mm 316L steel dual-comb
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (d8)

Soap: Barrister & Mann Fougère Classique
Brush: AKA Brushworx Winter Shine 26mm
Bowl: Fine Accoutrements Fine Lather Bowl

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum w/ No-Slip Grip System & Dry Dock System
Aftershave: Barrister & Mann Fougère Classique

It's time I get back on the horse with straight razor shaving so today I pulled out the vintage Wade & Butcher.

I don't know what to say but I crave the learning experience and challenge of straight razor shaving. I'm still not there with using one of the entirety of a shave but I'm okay with that. All in due time, right?

I did a couple of passes with the W&B then followed things up with the Le Maurice 0.8mm 316L steel head razor. I've used a Le Maurice before so I'm fairly familiar with it already. This one has a different handle though which makes sense because the first one I used was an early, first-generation razor.

I did my against-the-grain pass with the Le Maurice and ultimately ended up with a bbs shave. This was in no small part due to the top-of-the-line lather produced from Barrister & Mann's Omnibus soap.

With a fantastic artisan brush like this AKA Brushworx brush and a Fine Lather Bowl, I was able to make a nice big bowl of ultra slick, protective lather.

Fougère Classique has a very enveloping and comforting smell to me. It's powder heavy which might be why I find it so soothing.

On an overcast day here on the west coast, this was a welcomed and fitting shave.

I hope you all have a great day and enjoy your shaves.

Good morning! Hope you had pleasant evening.

Went back to Saponificio Varesino for this morning's shave. Love their "70th Anniversary" soap / splash set. Great any time of year but IMO it really shines when the weather starts warming up. Had to wait a bit before using it again, though. I had put it in a plastic bin last fall while rotating in some of my autumn soaps & splashes. Well, at some point the box was jostled and the cap on the ASL cracked which caused all of it's contents to leak out. All of it! Big mess, but boy, did my bathroom smell nice for a while! The Beta 4.1 formula provides a thick, slick lather with a lot of cushion and great post-shave face feel. Two passes (+touch-up) and I finished with the matching ASL and a spray of Acqua di Parma "Cipresso di Toscana" EdT.

Hope you have a great day. Smile
