What a mighty fine shave with the Shark Super Stainless (5) loaded into the YPM 921-H razor. The sharpness of the blade has faded a bit, but the smoothness has noticeably increased. Two passes plus touchups were needed to enter BBS territory, free of bloody spots. Truly enjoyable.

Enjoy your weekend

SATURDAY SHAVE 7-13-2024. Timeless Aluminum Slant or Parker Variant OC Adjustable. WHICH WILL BE MY TRAVEL RAZOR?? THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

Today's shave was a final test for me to decide which razor I will use for my travel razor. YES, I OWN MORE THAN THE LAMBDA RAZORS, (but none are as good as them). I was looking for a razor that was inexpensive and would give me a decent shave. The Parker gives me the flexibility of different levels of aggressiveness and the Timeless gives me a slant with comfort and efficiency.
The Parker has blade feel at all levels, the Timeless has nearly no blade feel and its head size and weight make it extremely maneuverable. So which will it be: Parker: Blade feel, flexibility and efficiency or Timeless: no blade feel, smooth and comfortable and just as efficient???? Price is the same for both. Tough decision. What are your opinions? NO, I WILL NOT ABIDE BY THE BB MOTTO "GET THEM BOTH".

Razor: 1958 (D1) Gillette Toggle (S.5,7,7)
Blade: Gillette Platinum RU 1st
Brush: DS Cosmetics Barber Pole synthetic
Soap: Stirling Ben Franklin
After: Stirling Ben Franklin
Notes: Hi DFS its been a while. I wanted to share my first shave experience with a Gillette toggle. Last year I started saving for a toggle, this one came up for a really good price online last week. The listing pics were not great, I took a gamble and bought it. It was in better shape then I thought it was. The plating is great shape, and it cleaned up nice. It has a couple mechanical issues I suspect from a drop. One side the guard is bent but the other side seems fine. The second I think one side of the T-bar is out of spec where it was dropped. I know it is going to need a tune-up but wanted try a shave first and then go from there. The shave was very surprising with how smooth it was! No cuts no irritation just a perfect  3 pass BBS shave. I turned it up two clicks to setting 7 for the last two passes. I found that to be smooth even against the grain on the upper lip at that setting 7. 2 things that really stood out to me with the toggle is more heavy compared to the executive or Fat Boy, and the smoothness of the shave even between adjustment's .All in all it was an awesome first shave with this razor. I have started looking for info into shops that work on toggles, any help would be appreciated. I hope you all have a great weekend and happy shaves!
