First shave with the RazVite, a 7 tooth version of the Famex adjustable cage razor. The set included Gibbs type blades rather than the traditional 3-hole so I'm guessing 1938-? . The wider spaced teeth, per the '37 patent, were designed to reduce clogging resulting from the use of brushless creams like RazVite. While the patent envisioned the possibility of flipping the cage both ways, this razor retains the same geometry as my Famex, and the handle will not allow the cage to be flipped.
I started out using a top shim with the BIC blade, imagining this would create a more rigid cutting edge closer to blades typically in use pre-1939, this turned out to be a bad idea, as the compression with the shim ended up distorting the blade in the head (I found out after it was too late) resulting in a number of cuts on my chin. I first swapped the cap for the Rockwell cap and Feather (sans shim) which as expected worked smoothly and milded up the shave. Switching back to the stock cap sans shim it was fine, agressive on its mildest setting but very manageable. After the shim-chin drama a beautiful BBS shave.

Jacques Cousteau birthday, 1910
Rooney 3/2 Faux Horn Finest (24/54)
Eufros Argos shaving soap (tallow) (sample - lavender, lemon, laurel)
Wilkinson Bonded System (8)
Dopo Barba di Camaldoli
The soap is good but not quite good enough to break into my regular rotation. There is almost a mint note to it.
