Go Green Celebration Shave
I tried to use as many green and white products today to celebrate the MSU Spartans victory last night.
I lathered up Maggard's Limes and Bergamot over Mickey Lee Lime PSB with my HIS and got excellent results. The FatBoy did its job on 9-7-7 for a smooth shave, but with a couple small weepers. I polished off the last of my Proraso Green splash to wrap it up. My face felt nice and cool.

Head & face shower shave. 2.5 days growth.

Technique:  WTG / XTG / ATG
Prep: Shower. Stirling Soap Co. "Sheep Soap"
Soap: Jabonman - "Tierra Humeda"
Brush: Ever-Ready 100T - restored by Thomas Burgess with TGN Finest Badger
Razor: RazoRock Stealth Slant v4
Blade: Gillette Nacet Stainless(3)
Post: Fine's Snake Bite. 1740 Beard Balm - "Death Wish Coffee-Infused"
Pay-off:  La Colombe Coffee Roasters' "Bleu"

Two days ago, I became the beneficiary of a very kind PIF from a fellow wetshaver.  This gentleman is a fan of Jabonman soaps, but the scent of Tierra Humeda wasn't for him, and he never even lathered it.  It is, however, right up my alley.  Off the dry puck, it smells just like its namesake, wet earth.  Lathered up, it gets much more complex.  The earthiness sustains throughout, but a slightly sharp, spicy vetiver quickly comes through with wet oak smokiness.  Then, a surprise---half-way through the second pass, a very clear note of saltiness and warm roasted-in-the-shell peanuts became dominant.  I have never had that particular scent come through on anything other than, well, fresh-roasted peanuts.  On the third pass, the peanuts left the stage, and smoky vetiver and moist hay became the prevailing notes.  While Tierra Humeda is no where near the same, I place it in the same scent category as Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company's "Myrkvior", and to a lesser extent, Chiseled Face's "Sherlock".

Manuel's reputation precedes him, but never having used a Jabonman soap before, I simply expected yet another top-quality artisan soap.  This is an outstanding soap.  It's thirsty, but building a lather was effortless with the Ever-Ready 100T with the TGN Finest.  The lather was dense, and very, very creamy with a consistency somewhere between mousse and pudding.  The #3 Nacet loaded into my daily driver RazoRock Stealth Slant V4 glided through my 2.5 day growth.  I'm a huge fan of lanolin in shaving soaps because my scalp responds quite well to it.  Jabonman is no exception.  It's not an overstatement to say the post-shave is at least as good as any other soap I've used.

I finished with Fine Accoutrements splash because it's hot and humid here in East Texas, and I wanted some heavy menthol.  I chose Snake Bite because I wanted to see how long the Tierra Humeda scent lasted.  There was no sign of it 30 minutes later, and I'm fine with that.  Now, I'm simply enjoying the smoky coffee scent of the 1740 Death Wish Coffee-Infused Beard Balm in my Van Dyke.

Now, I'm enjoying my evening coffee, provided by La Colombe Coffee Roasters' "Bleu".  La Colombe is an outstanding coffee roaster and "Bleu" is one of my favorites.

Have a great evening, all.
