Giving Flowers In The Dark another try...The scent on this one is outstanding and the label art extraordinary.  So what was the problem?  It's vegan.

Pre with the cube
Then masters of the Green as the main event 
Used a vintage Breitschliff blade in the Henkels razor but couldn't finish a pass with that blade and swapped to a Kai midway.

I've enjoyed the Breitschliff in other razors but it was horrid in the henkles. Dunno if a dud or the geometry of the two don't agree.

Wow, just fantastic.  I can feel the trade winds.  Also, I never saw a Semogue with a handle like that.  What is its story?

Honestly, I cannot tell you much about the Semogue handle. Back in 2019 I did a google search for wine barrel shaped shave brush handle to go with Bay Rum themes and this one popped up. I am a big fan of Semogue (26 in my den) so I had to have it.  This is from Vintage Scent website. I buy most of my Semougue directly from there site.

The Semogue 2019 Barbear Classico Limited Edition brush is a limited batch produced to the gentlemen at the Portuguese wet-shaving forum “Barbear Classico” and now it’s available to everywhere.
The brushe has a new, never used before, 26mm knot of mixed badger and boar hair. Semogue has developed specially for this brush a new 26mm diameter ring to carry this wonderful knot, the same one that the famous Caravela did back in 2011 and gathered worlwide aclaim.
The handle is also exclusive. Made of cherrywood, this handle has a barrel shape, resembling the old Semogue 1993 model, but larger and taller. Please notice that this is a large handle, but a very ergonomical one. Also, to keep a close link with the past, it carries the old Excelsior sticker, instead of the new Semogue logo.

It was a good shave between the upstart & the icon. And a lot closer than I thought it would have been. Either way, I got a heck of a shave that was supremely satisfying & comfortable.

It was well worth the effort. Everything goes together like a well put together lady.......creates a mood, know what I mean?
