Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars today. 20 seconds to load the Henri et Victoria High Mountain White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna Med Prep still in the Fat Handle Tech. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry Brit EdT.

  • Prep: Hot Shower

  • Brush: Declaration Franklin B3 Nebula

  • Razor: Maggard Slant

  • Blade: Polsilver

  • Lather: APR/Storybook Carnivale

  • Post: Unscented Declaration Liniment

  • Post Post: APR Carnivale AS

So, I have dialed in this Maggard Slant pretty well I think.  Took a shave or two, but got a really close shave with absolutely no irritation and tremendous efficiency.

Wanted to jump into trying Carnivale for this shave.  A very interesting combination of notes for this scent.  Opens much fruitier than I would expect, with a distinct Beedi/Bidi note that surfaces mid-drydown.  A Bidi is one of those small cigarettes that are Indian and wrapped in leaves.  They have a very distinct aroma, and I got that a lot as the dried-fruit notes faded.  As the scent continued to develop, it turned into a sweetish woody accord.  A very, very interesting scent.
Mrs Spankmeister was a bit 'meh' on it, so I think the EdP is a no-go for me, and I am going to have to shave again with it to revisit this fragrance journey that APR took me on.  I do like it as it is very different than anything else in my den.
