Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
Soap: Barrister & Mann Seville
Razor: Maggard V2 Open Comb
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3)
Brush: Thater 2-Band Silvertip-26mmx55mm

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Barrister & Mann Seville today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Rapira Swedish Supersteel still in the Maggard V2 OC. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Burberry Brit EdT.

After yesterday's two-razor, three-pass shave there wasn't much stubble to shave this morning so I though a single ATG pass would be the way to go, but it doesn't seem like it made much difference. I should have stuck with my routine two-pass XTG/ATG shave. Oh well, it should make for a more productive shave tomorrow morning.

Seems I have progressed to a point now where the carnage is limited to the left side of my face. I am told that it takes about 100 shaves to get this thing in line.

I question my ability to replace that much blood in the allotted time.

Started with a DE many years ago due to the dislike for the plastic multi blade units.

Not sure why I started with the SR but I wonder if I am going to make the next 96 assaults on my mug.....

4 attempt is the very beginning, and to encourage you give this a try:
Use your normal shave tool for your first pass. Re-lather and do your second pass with the straight. What does this accomplish? With the straight you are no longer worried about beard reduction and you can focus on stretching your skin, razor angle/blade angle and a light pressure. You will feel better about the process of learning the straight I'm sure. By 20 shaves you'll begin to feel very comfortable and start to really enjoy your razor.
