I fully agree with you. I bought mine from a fellow here, and I think he either included some Chinese Schicks or strongly recommended I get some. Unbelievable difference.

Today, as it is in the low 50's and spring is moving along rapidly, I decided I needed to get one last cold weather soap shave in. Grabbed the CBL Smokey Mountain Cedar, along with the usual suspects (Henson, Stirling balm, blah blah). It was shave #4 on a Voshkod blade.

Surprisingly, it was a good, fairly close, smooth shave. I can tell the blade has hit it's limit, but I am pleased with what I got out of it.

I have been experimenting with swishing the razor in alcohol (70%) after the shave to try to keep any hard water residue buildup from destroying the blade. I am wondering if it is working. Need to use my trusty Nacet next, that's the real test.

The soap was very much not doing it for me, scent wise. It's a great performer, but this is proof that Spring is too far in. Time to focus on the warmer weather scents, exclusively. Smokey Mountain Cedar, I'll see you again in October.
