SOTD Monday 10/24/22
I missed a few days, had a lot going on. My wife had surgery on Friday, so I was at the hospital for a bit, then had family come in Friday afternoon and through the weekend, so not a lot of extra time. Regardless, good to be back into a routine - and today (and the past few days) trying out a new addition - Rex Ambassador.
Shower: Nivea Men Deep Charcoal body soap
Razor: Rex Ambassador set on 1.5
Blade: Nacet, day 1
Preshave: PAA Cube 2.0
Soap: Roborock xXx
Bowl: Timeless
Brush: AP G5C
Postshave: Cold water rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel and Aloe, unscented, cold water rinse
Aftershave: Roborock xXx
Balm: Zingari Man unscented balm
I've had the Rex for a couple days and have been thoroughly impressed. Bladefeel is there even on setting 1, but no nicks so far (head and face shaves each day). Its a fine piece of work and I'm quite happy with it although I also want to try a Konsul now. I also acquired another vintage Gillette, this time a Fatboy in fantastic shape and shaved one day with that - also a great shave. Although I have to say that so far, out of my 10+ razors I think I like the Rex the most so far. BBS shaves, no nicks, lots of feedback and just very well made.
My wife had surgery on Friday, thank you for the prayers, she came through it with flying colors. Our pastor showed up before the surgery (a 45 min drive for him) to pray with us - we just love our pastor! In his prayer was an ask that God would guide the doctor's hands and bring my wife through the surgery better than before. Well, in pre-op as they're getting her prepped for surgery the surgeon came in - a very young woman, lots of energy yet very calm, welcoming, and comforting. We knew at that moment that God was in control. After all the prep discussion, my wife asked her about her (unique) name and if it had some meaning - the doctor sort of blushed a bit and said "My name means 'God's Hands' ". Wow! Thank you Lord! The surgery went very well (this is her 7th for the same condition) and she came out of it WAY better than the previous 6, very little pain (compared to a lot) and we feel incredibly blessed that all went so well. So again, thank you for the prayers!
Thank you for reading, blessings to all my new-found friends here, and please be kind in your daily walk, and keep looking up!
