Brush: Elite Razor Irish Bog Oak w/Motherlode synthetic knot (Thanks Nat!)
Razor: SS WR2 1.15 OC w/Darwin handle (Thanks Joseph!)
Blade: Med Prep (6)
Soap: Grooming Department
Post: Captain’s Choice Venture AS & CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion
Result: DFS-BBS. The Motherlode is so plush I thought it would be tough to lather the SOAP and would be floppy. Not so. Yes, it has less backbone than a badger, but if you adapt to it then it works fine. Good flow and plenty of lather to work with. SUPER plush. The tips are like the air off of butterfly’s wings (I’m guessing here, since I’ver never actually felt the air off of a butterfly’s wings; but you get the idea, I hope). The razor has good blade feel is smooth, and is nice and light thanks to the Darwin handle. The handle is narrow at the grip point, and will take some getting used to, but it’s more grippy than expected. Today’s lesson/insight/approach was “don’t try to get it all done on the first pass. Leave some skin cells for passes two and three.” It seemed to work. A couple of tiny weepers, probably due to the fact that this was shave number 6 on the blade. Tight, right, and smooooth at the finish, though.
Happy Shaves to All.
