I've been looking at this Stirling fan for quite a while. What are your thoughts on the fan knot?

I've been using this brush quite a bit lately.  The more I use it, the more I like it.  The 24mm Finest Fan feels a lot bigger on the face than the Stirling 24mm Finest Bulb that I have.  Both brushes are supposed to be the same badger hair.  The fan has very soft tips, decent backbone, and medium density.  I have been face lathering with the fan exclusively.  It loads soap very well and builds a great lather on my face.  I've been using the fan for Desmond's Barrow, Mystic Water(jar or stick), B&M, RazoRock XXX Formula Duro, and SV 70th Anniversary shaving soaps.  It releases lather very readily.  The handle on the 24mm Finest Fan is very solid, with nice weight to it, and very comfortable in my hand face lathering.  That said, I think the shape of the handle would make it very comfortable bowl lathering as well.  All in all, I don't think you can beat this brush for the price.

I hope that helps you out.  Just buy it!   Big Grin

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions

How do you like that APShaveCo 22mm Faux Horse Synthetic knot?  I've been curious about that one and haven't heard much about it.

It's a Great knot. Can't explain the subtle differences, it is just a little different than the Plissoft knots with the soft dense tips with backbone. This one is a little more like the Maggards Black Fiber where it seams to me that it may not be as dense, but it still does have plenty of backbone, and is soft. I think it really is an amazing knot. I am happy to have picked it up! I also picked up the APShaveCo Cashmere 24mm knot, on the presale deal. Both whip up some awesome lather. The Cashmere not is another amazing synthetic knot. It is just as soft as the Tuxedo, but there's a little more loft. I only have 2 shaves with it but after each shave I had to take a second to think, but I had felt like I had just used a Boar knot. If any Boar users want to give Synthetics a true shot, this is the only knot so far that actually gave me the sense of using Boar without even thinking about it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!  You're using the Faux Horse Synthetic knot in the capacity that I was thinking about: vintage restore.  I have a few vintage brushes that I really should fix up and put to use one of these days.  The 22mm knot looks like it might fit right in with a couple that I have.

Test Depth Thursday
Optimal shave today with Reef Point. The lather built easily and thick, helping the Futur glide in comfort. The splash and balm both have some menthol for a refreshing wake up this morning.
Prep: Myrsol Emulsion
Soap: Reef Point Test Depth
Brush: Brothers Bristles Bronze Shadow
Razor: Futur
