Razor: Timeless Bronze 38
Blade: Gillette Permasharp (7)
Brush: Paladin Tut
Soap: VDH-Mysore Sandal-GD Maleki mix

Three passes: DFS-BBS

I’ve noticed recently that all of the shaving gear I’ve acquired since I started about 16 months ago is getting better.  The soaps lather up better and provide more cushion and slick, and smell better too.  The brushes work better and look better.  The blades cut better, the razors are smoother and cut closer.  The shaves are more comfortable with fewer nicks and cuts.  This is great. I love the way the gear improves over time.  They should mention this in their advertising!

Happier and Better Shaves for All . . . .

Ram57, I was so close to using some Cologne Russe aftershave today but I switched to a colonia. Anyways, I like your sotd photo and setup and it made me feel a bit nostalgic with this scent when it first came out. It is one of my favorites. Cheers
Thank you. Cologne Russe is my 2nd most favorite shave product from B&M, Fougere Imperiale being number one.

Very nice brush! Has quite a gothic look and it goes well with the rest of the shave. Great pic.
Thank you!

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, APRIL 21, 2021

Last night I used my son’s Shapton Progression to hone one of two old Thistle Cut vintage straights I have, the Persian. I worked it right up to the 30K stone, and now understand the true meaning of scary sharp. I usually blunt the toe point on my Non-round toed straights, but for some reason forgot. Never again! Two divots, one on my right cheek, and the other on my right neck as I was doing a toe down final mug pass will serve as a reminder in the future. The blade tip was so incredibly sharp that I never felt the occurrence. Styptic gel took care of things thankfully. I selected a Gillette New SC for what turned out to be an uneventful two pass noggin shave. I feel refreshed, chastened, but still very smooth!

RAZOR: Thistle Cut “Persian” 5/8 (Mug), Gillette New SC
BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Rearden Razor 316L SS Tuxedo Synth
CROAP: Stirling Glacial Electric Sheep
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub and Cremo Cooling Balm.

I rarely use the Somerset Manchurian brush because it just doesn't feel as robust in my hand as my old Rooneys, and I'm a bit afraid of damaging it. But it did fine with the cream, which made great lather.
