Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Razor: Atelier DURDAN Le Maurice (1.4mm bronze safety bar)
Blade: Gillette Platinum (d2)

Soap: Stirling Soap Company Mountain Man
Brush: Heritage Collection Ever-Ready w/ High Mountain White badger knot

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum w/ No-Slip Grip System & Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Stirling Soap Company Mountain Man w/ Menthol

Today's shave was an enlightening one. I used the 1.4mm bronze head which is a pretty big gap if I do say so. Interestingly this head felt less aggressive than the 1.2mm brass head I used for my last shave. I think this has something to do with the less smooth, more draggy feel of the brass itself. Anyway, with a light touch, this brass head felt pretty smooth. It was very efficient and gave great results are just two passes.

What can I say about Mountain Man that hasn't already been said? It has a phenomenal fragrance that's inspired by the Creed Silver Mountain Water cologne and the soap base itself is slick and rock solidly reliable like everything Stirling Soap Company makes.

I did a three-pass shave and made short order of this shave. The 1.4mm gap head meant business and I'm sitting here with a bbs for the effort. Keep in mind though that a 1.6mm gap head is an option when purchasing this razor on the Atelier DURDAN site. I can only imagine what the 1.6mm is like but I did enjoy the 1.4mm.

When done shaving I splashed on some mentholated Mountain Man and earned a compliment from my lady for doing so. It's a fantastic fragrance in and of itself but was even better on a nice sunny day like today.

Alright, my friends. Thanks for reading and enjoy your shaves!
