First time my upper lip has felt a blade in, maybe, fifteen years or so. First time with a DE since the early '80s, I think. I think the SLOC was a good choice since it took it all off in just a few strokes. No preliminary work with clippers or scissors. No clogging whatsoever. Just a bit of redness here and there.

Oh - a tan line. Who knew?

We've been on a short vacation trip to southern Oregon, so for the last 3 mornings I have used Trumper Coconut shaving cream, rubbed onto my face by hand; Harry's Razor with a disposable multiblade cartridge; and Gucci aftershave in a travel bottle. Tomorrow morning I go back to my regular rotation.

During my restoration process I mistakenly thought this little brush was a Albright Rubberset due to the box it arrived in. Afterwards I was provided with the knowledge that the brush predates that and is in fact a No. 58 Theo Kochs brush from late 1800s to early 1900s. 

I replaced the old knot with a master badger Silvertip from TGN and will say that even at 16mm, I was not disappointed with performance! It built and held one heck of a good lather that was more than enough for 3+ passes. Makes me wonder what people from the time period would think of all of our fancy named and hand tied knots with custom handles we've grown accustomed to and if we really need them? No plans on giving mine up, lol. Just nice to reflect.

AWESOME Freddie, I have yet to land a Koch. Love the ones with the string. I know what you mean about reflecting but enjoying a mix of old and new. Cheers !
