Excellent setup today.  

Woody Mandarin, interesting combination, how is the aroma. If I remember right Phil states this soap is well liked by straight razor users for the slickness factor. Is this a  pretty slick soap?

The aroma is light and very pleasant. The lather is top of the line really, easy, thick and very slick.

Fantastic shave this evening! Refreshed this blade earlier today, and boy did the fresh edge perform! Very near BBS without any touchups in only 2 passes. Super clean, super smooth. Still my favorite blade, now with a much improved edge. It's even better now than it was before!

How clovey is Stirling's Bay Rum?

This Bay Rum is a sweet Bay Rum - but the spicy clove scent is definitely present - but not dominant. Sorry, I am not very versed with scents, hope this helps anyway.

This was one of those shaves where some quite randomly selected pieces of equipment lined up to bring about a very enjoyable result. Magnificent lather with Mike’s. Thoroughly enjoyed the iKon/Windrose combination, and my first impression of the Dorco Prime blade was very favorable. The Puro Fresco splash was the icing on the cake; although I love the scent of the soap even more, the splash is still a winner.

Excellent setup Doug. Have to say I picked up the TSD Oakmoss Sandalwood preshave butter and really like the scent. I bet the X2 iced Oakmoss Sandalwood soap is outstanding as well.
