SOTN: 7/16/2015 -"Ray Pope Saved My Shave"

Soap: RazoRock Green Tea "Sensitive Skin"
Brush: Semogue 620
Razor: PAA Double Open Comb w/ Maggard MR5 Handle
Blade: Feather (3)
Post: Nivea Balm & Barbesol Brisk ASL

Let me tell you what kind of guy Ray Pope is. He posted a few days ago saying how great Barbesol Brisk is. I replied with five words: "Where did you get it?"
He then told me to send him my address because he wanted to send me some (even though the postage would be more expensive than the bottle of aftershave). I sent him my address fully expecting to get a small sample decanter of the stuff. NOPE! He sent me a brand new bottle. Not only that, but he filled the box with a brand new shaving towel and a HTGAM essential oil towel treatment!

I'll get you back sometime, Ray. Mark my words. Next time I'm in Chicago I'll buy you lunch at that Italian place you love so much. ;-)

As for the rest of the shave, I mean it when I say that the Barbesol saved it. The RR soap is a very good performer, but I'm just completely underwhelmed by the scent (or the lack thereof). I like stronger scented soaps. The Brisk did a great job of topping off what otherwise would have been a very mediocre shave. The RazoRock, on the other hand, will be getting PIF'd at the end of the month.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso - Sandalwood
Soap: Grandstaff - Illipe & Cocoa Butter
Bowl: Woodhead Tall Large Scuttle
Brush: Muhle 23mm Kosmo synthetic
Razor: Gem Junior Bar + templ8 50mm handle
Blade: Gem (4)
After: Aqua Velva - Musk AS, St. James - Mandarin & Patchouli ASB

Nothing quite like like warm lather from a scuttle. Always get good results from Grandstaff soaps - I think this version is my favourite.
No drama today just an easy shave; DFS but not quite BBS, I think the blade's on its way out.

Have a great day folks.
