Shower: Stirling Mountain Man
PreShave: PAA Cube 2.0
Razor: Rex Ambassador set on 4
Blade: PermaSharp day 2
Soap: 345 Expedition
Bowl: Timeless
Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
PostShave: CWR, Alum
Balm: Proraso Sensitive
AfterShave: Fine Platinum

A great shave today - Rex Ambassador comes through for the win when I was feeling the need for a little blade feel this morning. The 345 Expedition is a new soap in my collection - pretty subtle, thought it paired well with the Stirling Mountain Man soap in the shower. Fine Platinum - well just because I haven't used it in a while and it goes with most anything.

The Rex set to 4 was a pretty efficient shave, no nicks or cuts, and good feedback everywhere. I should do a comparison of the PermaSharp blades to the Personna Lab Blues and see which one works best for me, but PermaSharps seem to always do very well.

Now that its hump day I can start to feel the weekend approaching. I hope everyone has wonderful plans laid for the weekend and the coming holiday season. We had Tornadoes here in North Texas yesterday, one touched down about 1/2 mile from my house - so stay safe out there and keep looking up my brothers!

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

Pre: P.A.A. Cube 2.0 w/ Cube Dock

Razor: T.R. Cadman & Sons "Bengall"
Razor: Rockwell 6S (#5)
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (D3)

Soap: Van Yulay - Soap of The Gods - Mis Amigos
Brush: Omega Boar 10005/80005
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

I chose my Rockwell 6S razor as backup for my Bengall straight razor. As you'd expect I'm still moving forward with straight razors shaving but figured the Rockwell would make a fine companion, and I was right!

The 6S is a hefty razor but a very capable razor. There's no denying it looks big or it's solid feel. But for as heavy as it is, it's actually remarkably smooth. No really, it is! I have no issues at all with recommending this razor. It's technically adjustable with it's various base plates so there's really no way to not find the quality of shave you're looking for.

I recently received some Van Yulay S.o.T.G. samples so I decided to try one. Today I chose Mis Amigos. It has a very appealing scent profile with top notes of lime, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, jasmine, mint, orange, mandarin and ginger. The middle notes are peach, freesia, hyacinth, rosemary and rose. While the base notes are white musk, cedar, oakmoss, patchouli, leather, tonka bean, tobacco, star anise and amber. Quite an accord if you ask me.

I found the overall scent profile very nice. My only critique is that I wish the scent volume was dialed up a few degrees.

The soap easily whipped up into a full bowl of lather with my Omega boar brush. I did a couple passes with my Bengall then finished with the 6S. A sweet bbs face was earned. I then splashed on some Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve for a beautiful masculine finish.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day and enjoy your shave!
