Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Simpson Somerset Chubby 3 Extra Super (Manchurian) (30/62)
Harrods by Floris shaving soap (tallow)
Wolfman WR1-SB Mirror-Polished 0.80/WRH1
Gillette Platinum 'Swede' (9)
Col. Conk Almond aftershave balm

A great shave.  The old brush has less backbone than my Rooney Finests but enough to make lathering of the soap quite easy.  The razor probably would be too aggressive for me with just about any other blade, but with the Swede it was excellent.

I received the Phoenix & Beau the other day along with my HSSC. I posted the mail call on IG and was asked by a few for my thoughts on it. This was a collab between P&B and The Razor Co. and is currently only available through them. This was my first time having any contact with them and found them to be very friendly with prompt communication and fast shipping! Seemed to be very genuine, nice people. This short review is just my opinion and should only be used as such.

The scent is described as a "Sophisticated and unconventional woodsy affair comprising of dominant notes of cedar, cypress, palmarosa with a touch of geranium and sandalwood." I'm not the best at scent description but fresh off the puck I mainly get the geranium and sandalwood and not so much the "dominant" notes. Once lathered it does take on a warmer tone which I attribute to the Cedar and Cypress. It's a nice, safe scent that does not linger much after the shave and can be followed by a number of post shaves in the same scent genre.

The soap its self is firm like you see with other P&B soaps or bases from B&M and others of the like. It was easy to lather and provided more than enough for my 3 pass shave. Performance was average and matched other P&B soaps I have tried. There was enough initial and residual slickness to provide a smooth comfortable shave but it could be dialed up a notch as well as a  little more cushion. The lather never thinned or dissipated and had a pretty good range for water. Post was also average and though it didn't dry me out, it didn't leave me feeling hydrated or that I didn't need a follow up splash or balm.

All in all it was a good shave but I will be looking to find this one a new home. Thanks all for taking the time to read and have a good day!
