The Kelpies sculptures in Falkirk, Scotland are amazing. At their highest they are almost as tall as a ten story building and are the tallest purely equine sculptures in the world. The exterior is made up of hundreds of stainless steel plates, no two exactly alike, while the interior supporting structure is comprised of structural steel.

They are fantastic shots Freddy. I have to admit when I first learned of the completion of The Kelpies I wasn't all that impressed , especially since they were constructed with public money at a time when there was and still is a lot of cutbacks in public spending.
I've since changed my opinion of them having seen them in real life , there is something quite magical about them particularly at night when they are illuminated and towering over the landscape. I'm not a huge appreciator of art but I can understand when the beauty and captivating nature of a piece transcends any cost of construction.

Have you seen "Arria" The Mermaid of the North yet ?, it is situated off the A80 near Cumbernauld. Andy Scott the creater of The Kelpies also built her.

I want to see the mermaid very much. However, with no car, it is difficult to get to. Sad

I've only seen it from the A80 , I'm not sure if there is access by foot like The Kelpies. I'd imagine the buses going from Dunfermline to Glasgow would pass it?

They are striking. As one slowly walks around them and looks up their whole aspect changes every few feet.

I have really fallen in love with the art of street photography.  I'm really not very good at it, but then Dallas is not a very street photography friendly city either.  However las weekend I went on a Photowalk conducted by Dallas Photo Walks, and sponsored by Fujifilm and 500px.  While on this walk I tried my hand at some street portraits that I'd like to share with you all now.
