Offered is a very rare Black Eagle Rhino shaving brush. The knot is a hand-tied HT1 from February 2019. The artisan, Bradley Rautenbach, described these knots as follows:

"HT1 is the first official Hand Tied Hair Batch. This hair exhibits long, white, soft gel like tips. All knots in HT1 are crafted in house, are Fan shaped and are offered in 25mm, 28mm and 32mm. In the knots tested it was noticed that about 30% of each knot developed micro hooked tips. The HT1 knots are generally denser than both the Prototype and 1018B2 knots. Exhibiting excellent backbone, these knots are ideal for the seasoned face latherer yet work well for bowl lathering."

This brush has a knot with a 25mm diameter and 50mm loft and is set in the popular Rhino handle. The handle height is 63mm, its diameter is 41mm. The Rhino description:
"Black Eagle Shaving takes inspiration from the wildlife indigenous to Southern Africa when developing a new handle shape. With this in mind, each different style is given the relevant animal name.
Although each and every handle is meticulously turned, it is important to note that old school techniques are adopted using a wood lathe and chisels. This means that no single handle is identical to the next and slight variations will occur. Dimensions given below are an indication only and may vary by a few millimetres.
This handle style consists of two sharp rings echoing the double horns on a rhinoceros. Southern Africa is home to two of the extant species, the 'Black' and the 'White' Rhino, both of which are endangered due to the high poaching rates for the keratin horns."

Black Eagle brushes are no longer available retail, having been completely sold out for a long time. This beautiful brush is in excellent condition, with minimal signs of any wear.
