For those who electronically manage/track their SOTDs and product usage, what software do you use?  I always thought it was just spreadsheets but after talking with my brother, who is a software engineer, he suggested I look into databases - something like LibreOffice Base.

What do you guys recommend whether it be specific software or type of software?

I do not track shave of the day, but over the past 8 years I have evaluated over 250 shave soaps. I use a Microsoft Access database with a separate record for each soap, fields to track evaluation parameters and text fields to include scent notes, ingredients, etc. I do not recommend Access for most people as it is only available in the Professional version of Microsoft Office or the subscription model of Microsoft 365. I have multiple computers, so I find the annual subscription works well for me. You can probably do something similar in Libre Office. There will be a learning curve, but once set up, your database will be a joy to use.

Over the past six months I have evaluated about 70 different razor blades. I have kept the results of those evaluations in an Excel spreadsheet. Spreadsheets are easier to set up than databases, so it is a better option for most people.

At one time, there was an Android app called Shaving Buddy. It is no longer on the Google Play store as it does not work with the most recent versions of Android. You might still be able to install it via apk. I tried it years ago, but it did not fit my specific needs. It might work for tracking SOTD.

This is actually a very easy to use app.  I gave it literally 5 min of my time and this could log everything and keep track of everything that would take me 10 min to log another way. metal_shavings good call, I don't know if I'll use it but it's useful for those who really want to track their shaves.

I will try to track this down.  Thanks!

I definitely use it, it pretty much does what I need and reasonably quickly. It’s easy to use, pretty intuitive and keeps track of what I need and allows me to add any notes that I feel might be pertinent to that shave or the gear I used for that shave. It is also easy and quick to search for the last time I used a particular item or to see certain things like what blade and razor combos that I used. I really enjoy using it.

And did 4.50 a year for the purchased version I imagine it saves someone hours, it’s a bargain.

I was fortunate enough to get it for free from TRC when they were offering it free with a purchase. If I have to pay that price each year for it though it totally is worth it. I would definitely pay it. It is definitely a bargain to me just simply for the ease of use and the organization versus just trying to keep track by some other archaic method that I probably would’ve used.
