Vault 111
I never thought that I would say this, but I bought some vintage Old Spice Shave soap and I cannot make a stable lather no matter how hard I try. Bear in mind that I can lather Mystic Water, MWF, you name it, I can lather it. Needless to say, I am disappointed. Next time, I am going to take a page out of Claus' playbook and attempt a super lather with a dab of Simpsons' unscented shave cream. Details at 11:00pm Wink

I'm curious to see how it works out and whether any of the Old Spice scent survives - I've found the Nivea sensitive cream to be a great super-lather-er but it kills the scent of the soap.

It looks like you are becoming quite proficient with your lathering, my friend! Big Grin

P&B Spitfire

I got one that was under filled, smelled like ammonia for weeks, and finally just got tired of it

Bad first impression, I'll revisit P&B I'm sure but not right now.

I may be asking for trouble here, but did anyone notice that there was not a single complaint about good ol' Mike's Natural?

SV 70th. Not a fan of the scent, and lately the performance for me is quite mediocre.

SV Cosmos. Not a fan of the scent, like 70th it's bordering cloying and performance is also so-so.

Soap Commander Courage and the berry fall scent (forgot the name). I like the performance, and I am still a fan of SC, it's even better than SV in my opinion, but I really dislike the scent of these two. Courage is too cologne like for me if that makes any sense and the fall scent smells too much like a synthetic berry air freshner.

Ted, that is because it is a great soap!
It would still be in my rotation if the scents were a bit more to my liking and if the post-shave was more pronounced.

For me the scents are not that important although I actually like some of Mike's scents. As for post-shave it's alsways been fine to my sensibilities. However, based on your influence I have been using a homemade shea butter concoction as a preshave, and it is effective enough to provide a nice post-shave softness to my skin. I owe you for the shea butter tip.
