thanks. I gave LPV a whirl on Tuesday night. I did not have any skin reactions to the soap, which is great because the scent is awesome!

I'm not sure if my current routine helps with that though. being that I have a beard and only shave my lower neck, coupled with the fact that my lower neck is very prone to bumps and ingrowns, I only do one pass when I shave. This single pass is also before I shower.

my routine, as of right now:
- wet my face
- wash face with ursa major face wash
- face lather
- shave
- shower with a light face/neck wash with mild soap
- ASB after the shower

iirc, I've only really had issues with bath/shave soaps that are heavily scented with lime. my skin also cannot tolerate alum at all - it makes my face feel like it's on FIRE!!!!

andrewjs18, do you find that shaving before your shower offers any advantages when it comes to preventing irritation? Right now I shower before my shaves and that seems to work well, but I'm not averse to testing out a new routine.

to be perfectly honest, I don't shave often enough to really know...I'm lucky if I shave once a week. shaving once every 2-3 weeks is the norm for me, even though I know that if my lower neck hair gets too long, it'll literally try to grow back into my skin.

I have some red bumps from my last shave with my injector type L1...I'm guessing it's probably more the razor & my technique than anything... SharpSpine is thinking that the L1 might be too mild & not efficient enough for me.

I'll post some photos in a new thread tonight so I don't derail this one.

Bay rum, clove, cinnamon, menthol or other spice type scents can frequently burn or irritate. maybe we should try to compile a list that is somewhat comprehensive for being COMMON irritants.

Anything with Sandalwood burns me, Also RR P1.60 the older formula. I haven't tried the new stuff.

PAA 9 burns me just a bit, but not enough to prevent me from using, and same with most bay rum

Klar Kabinett dagnabbit... Itchy burning sensation till it's rinsed off. Love the scent though.
